Understand life insurance, proactively prevent risks

According to data from the Vietnam Insurance Association, in the first half of 2025, life insurance companies paid more than VND28,890 billion in insurance benefits to customers, reflecting the close role of this type of insurance with millions of Vietnamese families.

Currently, the country has about 11.7 million valid life insurance contracts, equivalent to less than 12% of the population participating. This rate is still quite low compared to many other countries such as the Philippines (38%), Malaysia (50%), Singapore (80%) and the US (90%).

In that context, the Government's strategy aims to have 18% of people participating in life insurance by 2030. This figure shows that Vietnam still has a lot to do to narrow the gap with other countries in the region and the world .

Understanding the nature of life insurance will help people exploit the humanistic values and practical benefits that this product brings, while proactively preventing risks in life.
