One UI 8 'slower selling' than One UI 7

Samsung has officially launched the One UI 8 Beta program for the Galaxy S25 series, but early signs suggest that the interface is getting less attention.

This beta program from Samsung allows Galaxy S25 series users to experience the new features of One UI 8 before the official update is released. However, unlike last year's One UI 7, the excitement from the user community for One UI 8 Beta seems to be not up to the expected level.

What makes One UI 8 less attractive?

Although One UI 8 Beta was released earlier than expected, it has not yet attracted the same attention as its predecessor. One of the reasons could be that One UI 7 brought a lot of major changes, from an improved user interface to outstanding new features. This update has refreshed the entire interface, from app icons to the status bar, making it easy for users to notice the difference right after installing it.

Some of the highlights of One UI 7 include the Now Bar for quick access to important tools and apps, coupled with redesigned icons, a vertical app drawer, and better widget customization. Soon after the One UI 7 Beta program launched in December 2024, the platform created a lot of excitement among the Galaxy S24 user community.

Coming to One UI 8 Beta, this program was released at the end of May, but so far, Samsung has not expanded the update to many other Galaxy devices, including the Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy Z Flip 6, and Galaxy Z Fold 6. Meanwhile, One UI 7 Beta is available for a variety of Galaxy devices, from high-end models to tablets, as well as the Galaxy A series, giving more users the opportunity to experience the new features.

Introducing the notable new features of One UI 7

Current information suggests that One UI 8 Beta may still be exclusive to the Galaxy S25 series, which limits the number of users who can experience it.

Another reason for the lack of interest in One UI 8 Beta could be that the update only brings minor changes, focusing on improving the existing experience rather than introducing bold new features. In fact, many people may not notice a big difference at first glance.

While it may not be trendsetting, the One UI 8 Beta is still worth checking out. The update promises better performance, smoother animations, and improved security. The stable version of One UI 8 is expected to be officially released alongside the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Z Fold 7 next month.
