Accordingly, with a minimum of 15 old batteries (AA, AAA, C, D types), customers can exchange for one of the "green" gifts including: Canvas bag, convenient bamboo straw, kraft notebook, exclusive beautiful account number from OCB. Battery collection stations have been installed synchronously at all OCB branches nationwide, ready to receive old batteries from customers. All batteries after collection will be handed over to specialized and authorized units for proper handling, minimizing negative impacts on the ecosystem.

It is known that the OCB Pin Hunter campaign does not simply stop at collecting toxic waste, but it is also an inspirational journey, connecting each individual with the responsibility of protecting the environment, encouraging the community to act for a sustainable ecosystem.

With the message "Old batteries turn green - Earth becomes healthier", OCB hopes that the campaign will create positive changes from the smallest things, each old battery properly treated today will be a solid step towards a green future tomorrow.

Battery collection “stations” have been placed at all OCB branches nationwide.

“Realizing that batteries are widely used in electronic devices in homes and offices. However, when they are no longer usable, we often have the habit of throwing them away and not handling them properly. This action is silently leaving many long-term consequences for nature as well as human health, specifically, each battery can pollute 1m3 of land and 500 liters of water within 50 years. Therefore, we have come up with a practical solution, building each branch and transaction office of the bank into a Green transaction point, in addition to providing modern and convenient financial solutions, this is also a "station" to collect old batteries for everyone. It can be said that this is a program that we are very passionate about, wishing to implement long-term, spreading the awareness of green living, calling for the community's cooperation in protecting the environment, towards sustainable development" - Mr. Pham Hong Hai, General Director of OCB shared.

In addition to implementing a series of environmental protection and social contribution activities, OCB also particularly promotes capital supply and financial services towards a green economy, environmentally friendly circular economy, environmental and social risk management with the support of many prestigious international organizations, such as the International Finance Corporation (IFC).

In 2024 alone, OCB has been focusing on prioritizing capital sources, effectively expanding lending to value-added projects, clean energy, and high-tech agriculture such as: Renewable energy including wind power, solar power, hydropower; A+ green buildings; Water supply plants and smart agriculture using sustainable farming methods, drip irrigation, water storage/containment...

As of December 31, 2024, green credit at OCB has increased by 30% compared to 2023. This is considered a high credit growth rate compared to banks in the whole system.

It is known that in 2025, OCB will continuously develop digital products; increase the scale of green credit, promote social security, share with the community and build a safe and happy working environment... demonstrating the bank's strong commitment in the greening journey, accompanying the Government for the Net Zero goal in 2050.
