On the afternoon of December 4, the Standing Committee of the Thanh Hoa Provincial Labor Confederation organized a reception and provided bus tickets for union members and workers returning to their hometowns to celebrate Tet. This activity is part of the program "Trade Union Tet Journey - Spring 2024" of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.

Accordingly, from February 4 to 6, the Thanh Hoa Provincial Labor Federation organized to welcome more than 500 workers from the southern provinces to their hometown in Thanh Hoa to celebrate Tet. Trains carrying union members and workers departed from Di An station (Binh Duong province) and Saigon station.

On the afternoon of February 4, the first train carrying more than 60 workers and laborers arrived at Thanh Hoa station.

At the reception for workers and laborers, representatives of the Thanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Committee and the Provincial Labor Federation visited, encouraged and presented gifts to the workers. In addition, workers returning to their hometowns on the train will be supported by car transportation to their localities.

Mr. Vo Manh Son - Chairman of Thanh Hoa Provincial Labor Federation - shared that the program "Trade Union Tet Journey - Spring 2024" is a typical activity to accompany and take care of union members and workers returning to their hometowns to celebrate the reunion Tet.

"Welcoming workers back to their hometowns for Tet, seeing the joy in each person's eyes, we also feel very happy. This is truly a meaningful and practical work for disadvantaged workers in the atmosphere of the approaching Lunar New Year," shared the Chairman of the Thanh Hoa Provincial Federation of Labor.

Ms. Loc Thi Huong, a worker at Dai Hoa Company Limited (in Binh Duong province), shared that since the Covid-19 pandemic broke out, her family has not been able to return to her paternal hometown to celebrate Tet. This year, thanks to the support of trade unions at all levels, her family was able to get free train tickets to return home to celebrate Tet.

"Right after I heard that I could take the train for free to go home for Tet, I was very happy, just looking forward to the day I could board the train and go home to see my relatives to celebrate Tet. I was really touched, thank you to the trade unions at all levels for helping us to go on the charity train to go home for Tet," Ms. Huong confided.
