This is the initial positive result of the 9th Tree Planting Festival and the "Clean Environment - Green Life" program implemented by Syngenta Vietnam Company in coordination with the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Can Tho and the Plant Protection Department of Kien Giang in response to World Environment Day.

The series of activities contributed to raising public awareness, spreading green lifestyle to farmers, contributing to the construction of new rural areas in the Mekong Delta in particular and the whole country in general. Immediately after the launching ceremony held in Thoi Lai district, Can Tho city, more than 300 farmers along with Syngenta Vietnam staff and local government agencies spread out to different areas, enthusiastically participating in different activities.

Participating in the above event, Mr. Pham Van De, a farmer in Can Tho, shared: "I am excited to see everyone working together to make the rural landscape green, clean and beautiful, and proactively collecting waste, ensuring safety for the health and lives of local people. Everyone is happy to participate in this activity."

Mr. Tran Van Trua, an employee of Syngenta Vietnam Company, said, "This is the 8th year I have participated in the program. Every year, I see people participating more actively. When the collected waste is brought to the exchange points, it can be exchanged for many practical gifts. We will collect this pesticide waste and process it according to the safety, health and environmental standards of the global Syngenta Group."

Within the framework of the Tet tree planting activities, 500 black star trees, 1,500 purple-flowered Lagerstroemia trees were planted along the bypass of Thoi Lai town - Can Tho city and nearly 300 star oil trees along the Ben Nhut bypass, Long Thanh commune, Giong Rieng district, Kien Giang province. In addition, farmers in Can Tho and Kien Giang also participated in training sessions organized by Syngenta, instructing on how to use plant protection drugs effectively and safely . help people have more professional knowledge when using pesticides in agricultural activities.

According to represent According to Kien Giang Department of Plant Protection, in the past, many farmers collected bottles, jars, and packaging after spraying pesticides to sell to scrap yards, or burned them themselves, causing environmental pollution. "I appreciate activities like this. Training sessions contribute to gradually changing people's awareness, and are also an opportunity for people to gain new knowledge about agricultural cultivation. This can help improve farming efficiency and increase economic value for crops, while protecting the environment and farmers' health when participating in farming," said Mr. Giau.

The "Clean Environment - Green Life" program, which has been continuously implemented for the past 9 years, is a testament to Syngenta Vietnam's commitment to the rural community through many meaningful activities.
