This year, teachers and students of Thai Thinh Secondary School (Dong Da District, Hanoi) will stop organizing the Mid-Autumn Festival program for students. Instead, the whole school will join hands to support people affected by floods.

Mr. Nguyen Cao Cuong, Principal of Thai Thinh Secondary School, said that all funds for Mid-Autumn Festival activities will be transferred to support people affected by floods. Fun and experiential activities will be arranged at other suitable times. More than ever, teachers and students of the school understand that they need to join hands to support people.

Similarly, Luong The Vinh Secondary and High School (Hanoi) also stopped organizing the Mid-Autumn Festival to raise funds and support people in areas that are suffering heavy losses due to natural disasters.

Ms. Van Thuy Duong, Vice Principal of the school, said that right after the fundraising campaign was launched, parents and students participated enthusiastically. Many students used lucky money, gifts, and savings to support people facing difficulties caused by storms and floods.

"With the spirit of "Hanoi for the whole country", parents, school staff, individual students and 123 classes together with the School Council and the School Board quickly joined hands to donate more than 1.5 billion VND to support people in the North who suffered losses after floods and typhoon Yagi.

This is not only a practical action but also a way for the school to spread the values of humanity and community spirit. The school always puts itself in the mission of not only educating but also inspiring love, compassion and social responsibility," said Ms. Van Thuy Duong.

A representative of Hanoi Primary School (Ba Dinh, Hanoi) also said that the school has sent out a notice that it will stop organizing the Mid-Autumn Festival program and launch a fundraising program to support people in flood-affected areas.

The school's announcement stated: "As we know, recently, the northern provinces have suffered severe damage caused by Typhoon Yagi. Thousands of houses had their roofs blown off, thousands of acres of crops were destroyed, hundreds of people died and went missing, many provinces are still submerged in water and isolated due to floods and landslides. In that situation, the whole country is coming together to support our compatriots in difficulty, and so are all the staff, teachers, parents and students of Hanoi Primary School.

According to the plan, next week the school will organize a Mid-Autumn Festival program with many interesting activities for students. However, due to the above situation, the Board of Directors has decided to stop all activities to organize the Mid-Autumn Festival on a school-wide scale. The school launched a fundraising campaign to support areas affected by the storm.

The Headmaster of Hanoi Primary School said that all the funds for organizing the Mid-Autumn Festival will be used to support flood victims (buying essential necessities to send to flood victims, making star lanterns to give to children in flood-affected areas, making sesame salt to support flood victims, contributing to the school's general fund, etc.)

A representative of Hanoi Primary School said that the school considers this a lesson with profound humanistic values, spreading the tradition of mutual love to students.

Ai Mo A Primary School (Long Bien District, Hanoi) also plans to organize a "Happy Mid-Autumn Festival" program for all students on September 16. However, the Board of Directors of Ai Mo A Primary School decided to stop organizing the Mid-Autumn Festival on a school-wide scale. Instead, the school will use all the program's budget and the class's donations to send to people affected by floods through the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Long Bien District.

At Phuong Mai Primary School (Hanoi), the Mid-Autumn Festival program will not take place as planned. Instead, the school will conduct experiential activities coordinated by homeroom teachers in the classroom. Classes will coordinate with the school's partners to give gifts, scholarships, support meals, funding, etc. to students in difficult circumstances at the school.

The school's teachers' union also organized a "Charity booth" with Mid-Autumn Festival items and toys for children. The revenue will be used to support the people of Vinh Quang commune (Tuyen Quang province).
