At 11:00 a.m. on July 4, Thu Duc City Police, Ho Chi Minh City coordinated with related units to clarify the damage and cause of the fire at a wood workshop in the area.
Smoke from the wood factory fire rose dozens of meters high
Accordingly, at around 7am the same day, smoke and fire rose from the wood workshop of a company specializing in manufacturing wooden furniture located at 178/13 Long Thuan (Long Phuoc Ward, Thu Duc City). At the time of the fire, the workers had not yet started their shift. The company's security guard discovered the incident and used a fire extinguisher to put out the fire but was unsuccessful.
Inside were flammable objects so the fire quickly spread, engulfing the wood workshop.
Upon receiving the news, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Team of Thu Duc City Police dispatched 13 specialized vehicles and 91 officers and soldiers to the scene, coordinating with on-site forces to put out the fire.
The fire was controlled at 7:45 a.m. and completely extinguished at 8:30 a.m. the same day.
At 11:00 a.m. the same day, according to information from the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department of Ho Chi Minh City Police, the force had protected the remaining 60 square meters of the factory area (the total area of the factory has not been counted), preventing the fire from spreading to surrounding areas.
The fire did not cause any casualties, but burned many finished wooden chairs, raw wood materials, and many production equipment and machines (the value of which has not been estimated yet).
The cause of the wood workshop fire is currently being urgently investigated by Thu Duc City Police.

Previously, at noon on July 3, the paint warehouse of a company specializing in designing and manufacturing decorative wooden furniture in Linh Trung 2 Export Processing Zone (Binh Chieu Ward, Thu Duc City) also caught fire, destroying many properties. Hundreds of workers were instructed to evacuate promptly.
