During the state visit to Vietnam, at noon on April 2, King Philippe and Queen Mathilde of the Kingdom of Belgium had a working session with leaders of Hai Phong City, had lunch with representatives of departments, branches and large enterprises before moving to Cat Ba Island for a cable car tour.

Mr. Nguyen Van Tung, Chairman of Hai Phong City People's Committee, received the King of Belgium Philippe and the Queen on their visit and work in Hai Phong.

After more than 1 hour visiting Cat Ba Island, King Philippe and the Queen and the delegation boarded a boat to visit Lan Ha Bay.

Lan Ha Bay is located in the east of Cat Ba Island, Hai Phong City, adjacent to Ha Long Bay. The bay is over 7,000 hectares wide, including about 400 large and small islands. This is a peaceful sea with small fishing villages.

Unlike Ha Long, all islands in Lan Ha Bay are covered with trees or vegetation. In recent years, the bay has become a famous and attractive tourist and resort destination for domestic and foreign tourists. Lan Ha was recognized by the International Bays Club Association as one of the Top most beautiful bays in the world in May 2020.
