Artists Nguyen Quoc Huy, Tran Nam Tuoc, HuongColor 'Appreciate/permeate/enjoy' before spring

On the evening of January 9, at Gallery Medium (240A/B Pasteur, Vo Thi Sau Ward, District 3, Ho Chi Minh City), the exhibition of three artists Nguyen Quoc Huy, Tran Nam Tuoc and HuongColor titled Tham/Thau/Thuong (organized by VietnamColor in collaboration with Gallery Medium) opened. The exhibition brings viewers multi-sensory experiences of color and composition, touching each material with tactile sensation, and interacting with the author and the works through art talks and workshops.

While artist Nguyen Quoc Huy (born in 1963) painstakingly researches and explores earth, water, and fire on glaze and ceramic colors to create unique abstract ceramic works, the works of artisan Tran Nam Tuoc (born in 1974) experiment with a unique style on ceramic materials. Artist HuongColor (born in 1974) pursues the theme "Moment - Phoenix", with watercolors on raw silk, oil on canvas, multi-material installations, and unique color spectrums, bringing a new perspective on contemporary painting.

Regarding the content of the works, artist HuongColor shared: "Each person, after going through a cycle of light, will realize the meaning of life, the moment of full awareness of the self, the moment when the phoenix returns, it is rebirth, finding one's own passion, it is revival. Art gives us a new life, a new breeze. The present becomes extremely valuable because it is crystallized from the past, it is a transformation from within, it will be stronger when the artist finds his own voice.

On the opening night, VietnamColor and Gallery Medium also announced the fundraising auction for the watercolor silk painting Heure Bleue #5 by artist HuongColor. This work carries the concept of the interaction between humans and nature, between the great creatures of the deep sea and the small existence of humans. The profits from the auction will be donated to the Song Fund to support activities promoting education for children in areas affected by natural disasters and climate change of the Handson Scholarship Fund, under the River Oi program. The auction period lasts from now until January 23.
