In Da Nang City, from early this morning (August 24), in coastal communes and wards and Cu Lao Cham Island, fishermen and local forces deployed to bring fishing equipment and vehicles ashore to avoid the storm. Organized anchoring, mooring cages, aquaculture and preparedness to ensure the safety of people and property before storm No. 5 is rapidly approaching the mainland.

On the night of August 23, the City Border Guard organized the firing of warning flares for storm No. 5 and banned the sea; deployed forces to actively call, guide and support fishermen to bring their boats and ships to anchor in safe harbors and areas; supported people in reinforcing their houses, shoring up roofs, harvesting rice and crops and being ready to evacuate people when requested.

The Da Nang City Border Guard Command said that as of 5 a.m. on August 24, the total number of fishing boats in the city was 4,148/21,000 workers. The total number of fishing boats operating at sea: 258 boats/2,721 workers. The Border Guard maintains uninterrupted communication with the boats. No fishing boats are operating in the danger zone.

On the morning of August 24, the Waterway Police Team, under the Traffic Police Department of Da Nang City Police, deployed 3 working groups, coordinated with functional forces to organize inspections, arrange fishing boats and tourist boats to anchor, and at the same time propagate to people to proactively monitor storm prevention developments.

To prevent fires and explosions, the Fire Prevention and Fighting Force instructed fishermen to anchor safely, especially requiring oil trading vessels to move out of the fishing port area, Tho Quang fishing port and Man Quang bay to a more suitable location. At the same time, it advised people not to stay on the boat, and to take proactive measures to protect people and property during the storm.

According to statistics, by 5am on August 24, more than 600 vehicles of all kinds had anchored at Tho Quang Port, and this number continued to increase rapidly during the day.

Lieutenant Colonel Ngo Van Thin, Chief of the Commune Police, Deputy Head of the Command Board for Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue and Civil Defense of Avuong Commune, said that the unit has directed the Commune Police force and security forces at the grassroots level to coordinate with villages and hamlets to survey areas at risk of landslides, check the safety of houses under construction and assess the situation of crops and rice of the people.

Chairmen of People's Committees of communes, wards and special zones urgently review plans, proactively arrange forces and means to be ready to organize and implement evacuation support work, relocate people in unsafe areas; deploy measures to protect production, especially agricultural production, support people in harvesting agricultural products; organize anchoring and mooring of rafts and cages, aquaculture, strictly prohibit and not allow people to stay on rafts and cages during natural disasters.

The Military Command, Police, City Border Guard Command, Department of Agriculture and Environment, People's Committees of coastal communes and wards prohibit going to sea from August 24 and urgently deploy necessary measures to ensure safety for ships at sea and at anchorages.

The Department of Agriculture and Environment, the Department of Industry and Trade and related units require hydropower companies to organize operations to ensure water levels at reservoirs and dams, and to prevent unsafe dams from occurring; direct irrigation companies to increase inspections of reservoirs and dams, and strictly prohibit people and vehicles from traveling to reservoirs and dams and downstream areas of spillways to catch seafood...
