On the morning of March 17, the District Youth Union coordinated with the Culture - Information and Sports Center of Thuy Nguyen district to organize the Running Day for the Health of the People and the Cross-Country Race of Thuy Nguyen district in 2024. This is a practical activity to celebrate the 93rd anniversary of the founding of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (March 26, 1931 - March 26, 2024) and the 78th anniversary of Vietnam Sports Day (March 27, 1946 - March 27, 2024).

On March 27, 1946, President Ho Chi Minh signed Decree No. 38 to establish the Youth and Physical Education Department in the Ministry of National Education; the department included the Central Youth Department and the Central Physical Education Department; also on this day, the newspapers Cuu Quoc and Viet Nam Khoe published President Ho Chi Minh's words, calling for: "Preserving democracy, building the country, creating a new life, everything needs health to be successful. Each weak citizen means the whole country is weak, each healthy citizen means the whole country is healthy. Therefore, practicing physical exercise and improving health is the duty of every patriotic citizen".

Athletes participate in the National Health Running Day and Cross Country Race.

After the opening ceremony, nearly 1,000 youth union members enthusiastically participated in the 1,000m run to respond to the National Health Day. This year, the Cross Country Race attracted 200 athletes from communes, towns, agencies, units, and schools in the area, in 2 categories: 3,000m for women and 5,000m for men.

The Organizing Committee awarded prizes to groups and individuals with outstanding achievements.

Through the Running Day for the Health of the People and the Cross Country Race, to encourage young people and all classes of people to participate in physical training and sports in response to the campaign "All people practice physical training following the example of great Uncle Ho"; promote the movement "Healthy to start a business and protect the country"; contribute to improving health to serve the purpose of studying, working, building and defending the Fatherland. At the same time, discover, nurture and select athletes with good achievements to train and participate in city competitions./.
