Good news at the beginning of the year

During the past two weekends, tourist attractions in the province such as: Kim Lien Special National Monument, Dai Tue Pagoda (Nam Dan), Hoang Muoi Temple (Hung Nguyen), Co Am Pagoda, Muong Thanh Dien Lam Tourist Area (Dien Chau), Hon Mat Eco-tourism Area (Nghia Dan)... were crowded with tourists.

After the Lunar New Year of Giap Thin, many people organize spring trips, visit and experience historical sites, scenic spots and eco-tourism areas, preparing their spiritual energy to work in the new year. And not only domestic visitors, Nghe An also welcomes and serves a large number of visitors from other provinces to visit and experience.

Mr. Nguyen Cong Trung, a tourist from Yen Mo district, Ninh Binh province, said: “Taking advantage of the weekend, our family went to Nghe An for sightseeing. In the previous times, we visited Con temple, Cuong temple, Quang Trung temple, Hoang Muoi temple and Kim Lien relic site. This time we plan to continue to Truong Bon relic site, Hon Mat eco-tourism area and flower garden in Phu Quy. Knowing that Nghe An has many other attractive tourist destinations, our family will come back to explore them during this year's summer vacation.”

Ms. Le Thi Hien from Thai Binh province shared that at the beginning of the year, she and her friends organized a spring trip to Nghe An because there are many beautiful landscapes there. During the two days off, her group visited some places in Vinh city such as: Ho Chi Minh Square, Dung Quyet mountain, Vinh ancient citadel and went up to Kim Lien relic site (Nam Dan), tea island (Thanh Chuong).

“Nghe An has many beautiful landscapes and historical sites to explore, as well as many delicious dishes. Unfortunately, due to limited time, we were not able to enjoy much. We will arrange time to come back to experience more of the beauty of Nghe An’s countryside,” said Ms. Hien.

The above figures promise to bring prosperity to Nghe An tourism in 2024. These can be seen as good signs for Nghe An tourism industry at the beginning of the year, a "leverage" to help tourism businesses continue to build new, quality products that are competitive and suitable to the needs of tourists.

New Hope

In 2024, Nghe An province aims to welcome a total of 5,500,000 tourists with accommodation (equal to 104% compared to 2023), including 120,000 international visitors (equal to 155% compared to 2023), tourism service revenue reaching 9,000 billion VND (equal to 115% compared to 2023).

To achieve this goal, the Provincial Tourism Development Steering Committee determined to accelerate the progress of key tourism projects, review and evaluate the implementation of tourism projects that have been granted investment certificates. In particular, focusing on urging investors to accelerate the progress of the Cua Hoi Amusement Park project to exploit tourism activities to contribute to attracting tourists to Nghe An.

In particular, the cable car route from Cua Hoi to Ngu Island will be completed, creating a highlight to attract and retain tourists when coming to the coastal city of Cua Lo.
At the same time, the province will develop a variety of tourism products, including: Beach resort tourism, cultural - historical tourism associated with spirituality, eco-tourism associated with the culture of ethnic minority areas and rural areas. Build new and attractive tourism products and services such as: Sports tourism, adventure tourism, MICE tourism... with the orientation of sustainable tourism development towards green growth.

In fact, the “Ky Son Win Vietnam Moutain 2024” Marathon, which was held right after the Lunar New Year, is an effective way to attract tourists to explore the beauty of Ky Son land and people. The event has really left an impression on friends near and far and promises to attract more tourists to experience different types of tourism in the remote border area.

In addition, new destinations have been built and put into operation, creating more attraction for tourists inside and outside the province. Notable ones include Lung Village community tourism (Nghia Dan), experiencing the cultural identity and customs of the Tho ethnic community; Quynh Doi commune (Quynh Luu) with the tour "Wooden fish village - behind the halo"; Tam Son rock beach (Anh Son) with ancient trees along the river and vast fields of flowers blooming, visitors coming here will be immersed in the beauty of nature...

In particular, the province is urgently implementing the project of Preserving, embellishing and promoting the value of the special national relic of President Ho Chi Minh Memorial Site in Kim Lien in association with tourism development; strengthening the connection of neighboring tourist destinations to expand the tourism space in order to effectively promote models of cultural tourism, eco-tourism, community tourism, agricultural tourism, and traditional craft villages.

Expanding to the whole country, experts assess that Vietnam tourism has had an extremely impressive start to 2024 thanks to good product orientations, understanding the needs of tourists, and more open visa policies for international visitors. Along with that, there are advantages in natural resources, diverse and rich cultural heritage and political stability, which are the premises to expect the industry to have many improvements.

Thanks to that, Nghe An tourism industry will enjoy common advantages to exploit potential and promote attracting domestic and international tourists.

In order to continue attracting tourists, the Provincial Tourism Development Steering Committee will strengthen links and cooperation in tourism development with key provinces and cities; implement cooperation with large companies and corporations to enhance the competitiveness of Nghe An tourism. At the same time, actively and proactively implement cooperation and association programs with other countries through conferences and meetings with ambassadors and diplomatic agencies, international organizations in Vietnam.
