Accordingly, the victim was identified as Mr. D.CL (25 years old, from Ha Tinh province).

"According to reports, there are currently a number of Vietnamese people missing and unable to be contacted. Previously, on the evening of August 5, 6 Vietnamese drivers left their belongings behind, walked across the landslide area and were then supported by local people to return to Cau Treo International Border Gate. Currently, the weather in Laos is rainy, so the landslide area is still closed to traffic," said an officer at the Cau Treo International Border Gate Border Station.

According to this officer, the Border Guard Command of Ha Tinh province also sent a working delegation to Laos, to the landslide area to develop a plan to support the relevant authorities of the neighboring country in rescue and overcoming the consequences.

As Thanh Nien reported, on the morning of August 4, National Highway 8 in the Dat Pass area of ​​Bolikhamxay Province (Laos) suffered a serious landslide due to heavy rain. This area is located deep inland in Laos and about 70 km from Cau Treo International Border Gate (Huong Son District, Ha Tinh). The landslide caused many vehicles of several Vietnamese transport companies to be trapped and buried.
