It is known that these new 2025 Mitsubishi Destinator SUVs appeared at a racetrack in Tay Ninh province. It seems that these are cars brought to Vietnam for registration procedures before being officially sold later this year. The specific specifications and equipment of the Mitsubishi Destinator for the Vietnamese market have not been announced yet. However, it can be seen that the car for Vietnam has an unchanged design compared to the Mitsubishi Destinator currently sold in the Indonesian market.
As reported, Mitsubishi Destinator has dimensions of length x width x height of 4,680 x 1,840 x 1,780 mm and a wheelbase of 2,815 mm. As a commercial version of the Mitsubishi DST Concept that was first launched in 2024, Destinator takes design inspiration from its brother Xforce. Therefore, this model is also considered a 7-seat version of the Mitsubishi Xforce. It applies the characteristic Dynamic Shield design language. The car has a honeycomb grille with vertical bars, layered headlights, hockey stick-shaped LED daytime running lights and a front bumper with air intakes with hexagonal frames, integrated fog lights. In addition, the car is also equipped with embossed ribs on the sides, black plastic cladding on the wheel wells, grooved C-pillars, 18-inch wheels and "T" shaped taillights.
Inside, this C-size SUV has 3 rows of seats with a 2-3-2 seating configuration. The middle row of seats can be folded in a 40:20:40 ratio and has a central armrest with integrated cup holders. Meanwhile, the last row of seats can be folded in a 50:50 ratio. In front of the driver is a dashboard similar to the Mitsubishi Xforce. Here, the car is equipped with an 8-inch digital dashboard and a 12.3-inch central touch screen in the high-end version. In addition, the air-conditioning vents, air-conditioning control screen and button cluster are copied from the Mitsubishi Xforce. Meanwhile, the central control cluster area is more polished than the Xforce with a higher gear lever. The car has amenities such as leatherette seats, electric driver's seat, hands-free electric trunk, Android Auto/Apple CarPlay connectivity, 8-speaker Yamaha sound system, panoramic sunroof, 64-color interior ambient lighting, 4-speaker or 6-speaker sound system and Mitsubishi Connect smart connectivity. The car's safety equipment is quite complete in the high-end version with 6 airbags, 360-degree panoramic camera, automatic emergency braking (AEB), adaptive cruise control, blind spot warning, lane change assist, automatic headlights and rear cross-traffic alert.
Mitsubishi Destinator uses a 4B40 gasoline engine with 4 cylinders, turbocharger, 1.5L capacity, maximum capacity of 163 horsepower at 5,000 rpm and maximum torque of 250 Nm at 2,500 - 4,000 rpm. In addition, the car also has front-wheel drive, CVT transmission and 45-liter fuel tank. From Exceed version and above, the car has 5 driving modes, including Normal, Wet, Gravel, Tarmac and Mud. The front suspension is MacPherson type and the rear is torsion beam type. Ventilated front disc brakes are standard. The car also has the Active Yaw Control system like its siblings Mitsubishi Pajero Sport and Xforce. In the Indonesian market, Mitsubishi Destinator is priced from 385 - 465 million Rupiah (about 617 - 745 million VND). This model is expected to cost over 750 million VND in Vietnam.
