During her trip to Australia, MC Khanh Vy had the opportunity to meet Hoang Khanh – the champion of the 21st Road to Olympia. Hoang Khanh was once known as the “unrivaled” champion with a score far surpassing all 3 opponents in the final match.
Sharing in Vy talk with MC Khanh Vy, Hoang Khanh said that he participated in the contest "Road to Olympia" with the goal of becoming the champion: "I aimed for the highest position of the contest right from the start. I am confident in my ability and really want to become the champion.
At that time, every day I woke up thinking about how to get closer to the laurel wreath".

During the competition, Hoang Khanh only came in second in the monthly round, which made him depressed for quite a while: “I didn't get the laurel wreath in the monthly round, I was mentally depressed.
From the monthly exam to when I won first prize in the quarterly exam was 1.5 months, during which time I only bought novels to read because reading novels helped me escape from reality. I did not review or study anything.”
After becoming the champion of Road to Olympia 2021 , Hoang Khanh actively prepared to study abroad. After Lunar New Year 2023, he flew to Australia and studied at Swinburne University - the school where most Olympia champions study abroad with scholarships for Olympia champions.
“I have just completed my first year of Bachelor of Computer Science, majoring in Software Development at Swinburne University.
Studying in Vietnam and studying in Australia are two paths that made me become completely different versions of myself. If I stayed in Vietnam, I would not have been able to be as independent as when I went to Australia to study.”
Hoang Khanh shares with MC Khanh Vy.
Hoang Khanh revealed that he was inspired a lot in life by his parents: “My mother also received a government scholarship to study for a master's degree in Australia. At that time, my mother had just given birth to me, so she put aside studying abroad and studied in the country.
Luckily, 18 years later, I have fulfilled my mother's dream, I also took her to Australia. Recently, my mother also received the decision to become an associate professor. My mother is the first associate professor of literature in Quang Ninh."
Sharing about the changes after studying abroad in Australia, Hoang Khanh humorously said: “My biggest change since studying abroad is my appearance. From an 80kg guy who was tired just walking, I have lost weight to 72kg. I run faster, swim better, and my body is also healthier.
As a person, I have also changed, I have matured a lot. Before, I had many ambitions, wanting to change the whole world. But when I grew up, the world became larger, I was like a frog pulled out of a well. I think I should improve myself before changing bigger things."
The male champion changed a lot in appearance.
In Australia, Hoang Khanh often has meetings with the champions of Road to Olympia who are studying at the same school as him: "Every few months we have appointments to go out to eat and hang out.
The first time I met them, I was quite shocked because I had only seen them on TV before, I never thought I would meet them one day. All the champions I met had very excellent careers. I thought if they could do it, I should be able to do at least as much as them.”
Hoang Khanh also shared that he still maintains the habit of reading books and spending a lot of time on self-development. Therefore, the male champion also does not use social networks but focuses on studying more. In the future, Hoang Khanh hopes to work in the technology field.
Nguyen Hoang Khanh is the 21st Olympia champion. He set a record in the weekly competition, had the second highest score of the month and was the first person to win a ticket to the finals - the first in the first quarter. In the finals, Hoang Khanh won 315 points, becoming the champion of the Road to Olympia in 21 and the third champion from Quang Ninh.
