Bringing many improvements in artificial intelligence (AI)

The iOS 18.1 beta brings a number of improvements to artificial intelligence (AI) that Apple calls Apple Intelligence. Notable among them are features like "Writing Tools" that make it easier to edit and rewrite text, and "Reduce Interruptions" that help users focus better.

Smart notification summary feature is also integrated, helping users grasp information without having to constantly check the device.

In addition, Siri has also been upgraded with the ability to respond more intelligently and perform more complex tasks. Another equally important feature is the cleanup tool in the Photos app, which helps users automatically organize and delete duplicate or unnecessary images.

While many AI features are already available in iOS 18.1 beta, Genmoji and ChatGPT, two highly anticipated features, are still missing from this version. It is expected that users will have to wait until iOS 18.2 to fully experience these new AI features.

An important note for users of older iPhone models is that the Apple Intelligence feature in iOS 18.1 beta will only be available on some new iPhone models. Supported devices include the iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, and iPhone 16 series. This means that if you are using an older iPhone model, you will not be able to access these advanced AI smart features.

For those who have signed up for Apple's beta testing program, downloading and installing iOS 18.1 is pretty straightforward. Users just need to go to Settings -> Software Update -> Public Beta option to download this latest version to their device. However, note that the beta may still have some bugs and needs to be thoroughly tested before the official release in October 2024.
