According to The Gamer , the world's gaming community has just been stirred up by a huge data leak from Rockstar Games, revealing canceled projects like Bully 2 and GTA Tokyo , along with never-before-seen DLCs of GTA 5 called 'Liberty City', even including personal information and source code of GTA 5. What's even more surprising is that all of this data seems to have been purchased for only... $2,000.
Leaked data series allegedly from GTA 5
A leaked message thread shows that a person with the alias TMP (TickleMePickles, also known as Austinator Modz and XBL Dragonfly) was involved in purchasing the leaked data. TMP's group is said to have paid $2,000 for the data, which TMP shared. TMP's next move was to attempt to resell the source code for profit, initially asking for $6,000, but later lowering the price to $200-500, but no one bought it.
Unable to sell the source code, TMP is said to have released the entire data online to prevent others from profiting from it. A Discord conversation between TMP and an unnamed person shows the backlash. The unnamed user warned that this action could result in TMP being sued, 'ruining the Mod Hub', and being targeted by those who paid for the leaked data. TMP is said to have responded 'This is not the full leak', while threatening to release a 'full version'.
GTA 5 Leaked Data Messages
While the veracity of the entire story remains to be seen, it appears to be an act of revenge by a disgruntled member of the game's modding team who attempted to sell leaked Rockstar data but failed, leading to the entire information being released online.
