It is expected that on September 2, My Dinh bus station will welcome about 22,000 passengers/day, an increase of more than 350% compared to normal days.

Mr. Pham Manh Hung, Director of Hanoi Bus Station Joint Stock Company, assessed: on the occasion of National Day September 2, there will be 4 consecutive days off (from August 30 to September 2), at the same time there will be a large-scale parade and march to celebrate the 80th anniversary of National Day, so the demand for travel, tourism and sightseeing of the people is expected to increase sharply. Accordingly, the number of passengers and vehicles during the holiday will increase from the afternoon of August 28 to August 31 in both directions.

“At Gia Lam Bus Station, the highest number of passengers during peak days is about 5,000 departures/day, and about 1,500 return trips/day, an increase of about 250% compared to normal days. This bus station is expected to have about 400 trips/day, mainly concentrated on routes to and from old provinces and cities such as Hai Phong, Quang Ninh, Bac Ninh, Bac Giang ...”, Mr. Hung informed.

Similarly, at Giap Bat Bus Station, the peak number of outbound passengers is about 20,000/day, the return passengers is about 10,000/day, an increase of 350% compared to normal days. On peak days, the station is expected to receive about 850 - 900 buses/day. The increase in passengers is mainly concentrated on the old Hanoi - Nam Dinh route, the old Hanoi - Ninh Binh route, the old Hanoi - Thai Binh route and Hanoi - Thanh Hoa...

At My Dinh Bus Station, Mr. Tran Ngoc Hoa, Station Director, said that because the holiday coincides with the series of events marking the 80th anniversary of National Day, the number of passengers will increase sharply. “The peak falls on August 29, 30, 31 (passengers arriving at the station) and September 3, 4 (passengers leaving Hanoi). During this time, the station welcomes about 22,000 passengers per day, an increase of more than 350% compared to normal days. The number of vehicles operating each day is also up to 950,” Mr. Hoa said.

To meet demand, My Dinh Bus Station will increase the number of buses by 530 during the holiday, with 200-250 buses on peak days. The additional buses will be flexibly arranged on each route, each day, depending on the actual number of passengers.

In addition, the bus station also requires transport units to commit not to increase ticket prices and to clearly post prices during the holidays to avoid causing frustration for passengers.

At Giap Bat Bus Station, Mr. Nguyen Hoang Tung, Station Director, said that it is expected to increase about 300 trips/day on peak days to best serve the people. During this time, the station also requires 100% of staff to go to work, and at the same time arranges forces to increase inspection and supervision to prevent the phenomenon of motorbike taxis, touts, drivers and assistants following, luring, fighting over, and forcing passengers.

Mr. Pham Trong Cuong, CEO of Sao Viet bus company, said that during the holiday, the number of passengers using the service is expected to increase by 1.5 - 2 times compared to normal days. During peak days (August 29-30 and September 1-2), there are about 70 - 80 buses running on the Hanoi - Sa Pa route each day. The bus company confirmed that the ticket price will remain the same as normal days. To ensure safety, the company has planned to add drivers, check and maintain the fleet.

To ensure the rights of passengers, the leaders of My Dinh Bus Station recommend that people book tickets early and buy tickets at the station instead of catching a bus along the way. In case of needing to continue traveling, passengers can choose buses, taxis or technology vehicles that are allowed to operate at the station.
