On March 8, Soc Son district organized an auction of land use rights for 36 plots in Dong Lai village, Quang Tien commune. The plots have an area of ​​90-220m2/plot with a starting price of 9.1 million VND/m2. The form and method of auction is by direct voting for each plot of land according to the method of bidding up.

The 36 plots of land put up for auction are plots of land that were unsuccessfully auctioned in the session with a payment of 30 billion VND/m2 at the end of November 2024.

As a result, the land lot with the highest winning price was 48.9 million VND/m2, equivalent to a total value of more than 4.4 billion VND. The land lot with the lowest price was 29.9 million VND/m2, with a total value of more than 5.3 billion VND.

In addition, 3 plots of land were offered "disruptive" prices of up to 30 billion VND/m2 at the auction in November 2024, this time they were won at prices of 32.2 million VND/m2, 47.6 million VND/m2 and 47.9 million VND/m2 respectively.

Regarding the auction with a price of up to 30 billion VND/m2, on March 6, the Hanoi People's Court sentenced 6 defendants including: Nguyen Duc Thanh (33 years old, residing in Bac Ninh), Pham Ngoc Tuan (34 years old), Ngo Van Duong (31 years old), Nguyen Thi Quynh Lien (44 years old), Nguyen The Trung (31 years old), Nguyen The Quan (31 years old, all residing in Dong Anh, Hanoi) to be tried for the crime of violating regulations on property auction activities.

According to the panel of judges, the case was a simple case of complicity, with Pham Ngoc Tuan as the main player. Tuan was the one who put in the most money and invited others to join. In the land auction in Quang Tien commune, Soc Son district, which took place in 2024, Tuan participated in 10 files, bidding on 3/36 plots of land.

In the 5th round of auction, Tuan bid over 30 billion VND/m2 and did not bid in the 6th round. The defendants' refusal to bid in the 6th round caused the auction of 36 plots of land to fail.

The People's Court sentenced defendant Pham Ngoc Tuan to 3 years in prison; Nguyen Duc Thanh to 2 years in prison, Ngo Van Duong to 30 months in prison; Nguyen Thi Quynh Lien to 12 months suspended, Nguyen The Trung to 18 months suspended, and Nguyen The Quan to 15 months suspended.

On March 19, Soc Son district will also auction the right to use 23 plots of land in Duoc Thuong village, Tien Duoc commune. The plots of land have an area of ​​89-200m2, with a starting price of 17.4 million VND/m2. The auction will be conducted in a direct round of voting with an ascending price method.
