The Indonesian Football Federation has not yet confirmed a friendly match with the Argentine team.

"This is a very contrasting reaction between the Indonesian Football Federation (PSSI) and Argentina (AFA), making Indonesian fans half happy and half worried, not knowing whether the dream match between the Indonesian and Argentine teams will take place or not," Bolatimes said.

Earlier on the morning of May 22, AFA officially announced on its Twitter account: "Confirming that the Argentina team will compete in the Asian tour in June, with a match against the Australian team on June 15 in Beijing, China. And a match against the Indonesian team in Jakarta on June 19."

However, a member of the PSSI Executive Committee, Mr. Arya Sinulingga, also said on the morning of May 22: "We are still waiting for the results of the discussion to confirm everything. Until everything is clear, we will not confirm anything."

According to Indonesian media, the PSSI's hesitation in confirming the match between Indonesia and Argentina may be due to financial issues. It is reported that PSSI had to spend up to 5 million USD to convince the reigning 2022 World Cup champions with superstar Messi in the squad to come to the match.

"However, this is just a rumor and nothing has been verified. It may be related to other issues that PSSI has not yet finalized, so they are still waiting for confirmation before announcing. PSSI has only confirmed one opponent for the Indonesian team to compete in the FIFA Days in June, which is the Palestine team on June 14. If they continue to compete with the Argentine team on June 19 as announced by AFA, Indonesian fans will certainly enjoy a lot of interesting things," Bolatimes added.
