Vietnam U17 ended their training camp in Oman by winning both matches 1-0 against the host team. After that, coach Cristiano Roland's team will head to Saudi Arabia to prepare for the AFC U17 Championship.

Notably, FIFA has decided to increase the number of teams participating in the U17 World Cup to 48. That means that 50% of the teams participating in the 2025 AFC U17 Championship will qualify for the world-class tournament.

This is a great opportunity for U17 Vietnam to win a ticket to the World Cup for the first time in history. However, we need to show our mettle to overcome the challenges in the group stage.

That is because U17 Vietnam will be in the same group with very strong opponents, U17 Japan, U17 Australia and U17 UAE. They are all top teams in the continent. U17 Japan and U17 Australia are considered strong candidates for the championship of the tournament.

However, surprises can happen at the youth level when players are not yet stable in terms of mentality and performance. Therefore, U17 Vietnam can completely aim to be in the top two teams of the group and win a ticket to the World Cup.

According to the schedule, U17 Vietnam will play the opening match of the U17 Asian Cup against U17 Australia at 10pm on April 4. Next, we will face U17 Japan at 10pm on April 7. Finally, coach Cristiano Roland and his team will face U17 UAE at 10pm on April 10.
