Building a monument to Vietnamese Heroic Mothers at the martyrs cemetery in Ho Chi Minh City
This is a project of historical and cultural significance to honor mothers who sacrificed their husbands and children for the cause of national liberation and reunification.
The image of the Motherland standing tall, her two arms holding the national flag, the flag covering her chest and the two flaps hanging straight down, creates a standing posture, a quiet atmosphere of contemplation.
Behind the statue of the mother are two groups of stone statues depicting the solidarity of the army and people.
The relief behind the mother recreates the history of struggle and construction of Saigon - Gia Dinh - Ho Chi Minh City from the early days of land reclamation, settlement, and fighting against foreign invaders.
The project is a highlight contributing to educating the younger generation about patriotism, the value of peace, revolutionary traditions and showing gratitude to previous generations.
