Ly Hai's Flip Side 8 surpasses 100 billion VND in revenue

According to Box Office Vietnam, this revenue was established at around 8:00 a.m. on May 2, more than 2 days after the film was officially released. Combined with revenue from early screenings from April 27 to 29 and pre-booked tickets, Lat mat 8: Vong tay nang became the 7th film to surpass the hundred billion VND revenue mark in 2025.

Previously, according to the revelation of director and producer Ly Hai - Minh Ha, the film sold 1.1 million tickets just during the April 30 and May 1 holidays.

Compared to the previous film, Flip Side 7: A Wish , the revenue growth rate in the early days of Flip Side 8: Vong Tay Nang is more impressive.

However, whether the film can surpass the revenue milestone of 482 billion VND of Lat mat 7 is still a question mark. The reason is because this film is receiving many mixed opinions regarding its quality.

On the morning of May 2, according to Box Office Vietnam, the revenue of Flip Side 8: The Sun's Bracelet has dropped to number 2 at the box office, after Detective Kien: The Headless Case .

Specifically, Detective Kien: Headless Case , although scheduled for fewer screenings (2,564 screenings compared to 3,104 screenings of Lat Mat 8 ), grossed nearly 4.2 billion VND compared to more than 4 billion VND of Lat Mat 8. The number of screenings of Lat Mat 8 also decreased significantly, compared to more than 4,000 screenings in the first days of its release.

Detective Kien: The Headless Case currently has a revenue of more than 86 billion VND and will certainly become the 8th Vietnamese film this year to join the hundred billion club of Vietnamese cinema.

Currently, the box office race between the two films during this holiday season is very fierce.

The heat of the two newly released Vietnamese films also makes the remaining films quite overshadowed.

The blockbuster Thunderbolt: Thunder Squad , although highly rated in terms of quality, has only achieved a revenue of over 7 billion VND, ranking 3rd on the daily revenue chart.

Some family movies like Crayon Shin-chan: Mystery! Tenkasu Academy, Blue Dinosaur Travels to the World of Comics also have quite modest revenue.

The April 30 and May 1 holidays this year will last until May 4, promising to continue to bring in large revenues for films.
