He shared with Giao Thong Newspaper about the film and his career perspective after more than 10 years of working together.

Hope the audience doesn't hate me

“My family is suddenly happy” has gone more than half way through and has continuously had unexpected climaxes revolving around the character Cong, played by Quang Su. How do you receive the different reactions from the audience?

I think, from the first episodes, the audience has more or less known the appearance and personality of the character Cong. Honestly, I also feel frustrated with the character Cong, especially the way he talks and acts inconsiderately towards his wife.

I understand, the audience's negative emotions towards the character are very real. Seeing Cong treat his partner like that, it is right to be upset.

That shows that my performance is good, true to the character's personality and color, which is positive from a professional perspective.

Hopefully the audience will only get annoyed and hate the character Cong, but not Quang Su (laughs).

Have you actually been hated?

I don't think the audience will criticize the actors. I believe the audience now can completely distinguish between movies and real life.

Sometimes I also read the audience's comments, most of them just throw stones and are upset with Cong, not upset with Quang Su.

In Cong's family, everyone loves and understands his wife, except for him. Compared to other husbands who are willing to "get physical", Cong is nothing.

But when put in this family's situation, it's different. Many viewers when watching the movie said "why is Cong so stubborn", some said "my husband is exactly the same".

However, later on, the character Cong became less "stupid" and gradually regained the audience's sympathy (laughs).

Personally, how do you rate this role?

One of the interesting things about the script "My family is suddenly happy" is that although there are many characters, each character has its own distinct color and does not overlap.

Right from the first episodes, the audience has more or less seen the color and personality of each character.

The character Cong is a completely different color compared to the characters I have played such as police, soldiers, doctors, teachers or gangsters...

From the beginning, the director and I agreed on the character Cong's appearance, from choosing loose clothes with dark colors, hairstyle, and personality resonance to create a clear feeling about the character for the audience.

I myself am very different from Cong, I do not support a patriarchal man like Cong. Therefore, at first there was a little difficulty in practicing some habits to "shape" the character.

I realized a very contradictory point is that many people are extremely gentle and pleasant with outsiders but are always grumpy and unpleasant with relatives.

So I want through this role, the audience will see the problem and change themselves if they act like Cong.

No pressure when acting with Kieu Anh

Acting with actress Kieu Anh, a "senior" generation, do you feel pressured?

The cast in the film are all experienced and talented people. But I didn't feel any pressure and integrated quite quickly.

When I heard that I would be acting with Kieu Anh, I was really excited. When I was in high school, I watched the movie “The Sky Ahead” in which she acted.

This project is also the first time the two sisters met in real life. It is the first time they acted together in a movie, but both sisters are serious and professional people.

Before filming started, we met to get to know each other, discussed the script, characters... in detail, so everything happened very naturally and comfortably.

Kieu Anh is known as an actress with expressive eyes. Playing the role of the husband, have you ever been moved by your co-star's ageless beauty?

To me, Ms. Kieu Anh is not only a professional actress, serious about her job, but in real life she also cares a lot about the people around her, a dynamic and talented woman. Her ageless beauty has been recognized by many people, not just me (laughs).

I am a person who can be easily moved by pitiful events and situations in society. But to be moved by someone's beauty is something that has never happened before.

Have "blood" for business

So in real life, what kind of girl can make your heart flutter?

Actually, I have never shared information about my personal life before, that is also the reason why many people find me boring because searching for information about my life is almost impossible.

I believe that if I want to pursue this career for a long time, I will just work hard and seriously. I hope to be seen in a professional sense and not in a side story.

Partly because of my introverted personality and dislike of crowds or creating noise in my personal life. I always want to have a corner for myself, so many friends say I am not suitable for the artist world or the entertainment environment (laughs).

In the era of 4.0 technology, such choices sometimes put him at a disadvantage. The evidence is that he has participated in many films, from cinema to television, but compared to actors of the same generation, the name Quang Su is not really famous?

Each person has a different perspective and mindset in their career. The entertainment world is like a miniature society, there will be all kinds of people.

I choose my own direction and believe that if I do my job properly, at any time I will have a certain place in the audience's heart, maybe not too hot.

From the very beginning of my career, I have always determined that acting is my main career and also my long-term passion.

I want to experience many human destinies, bring laughter, tears, and emotions to the audience, not because I love the halo of the entertainment industry.

So I told myself to work hard, professionally and with a progressive attitude. Many people also advised me to take advantage of and disregard the project.

But my point of view is different. I understand the entertainment market. I work in this profession for a long time, not just for a few years and then move on to another job.

But, "rumor has it" that you also do business, do you not intend to stick with it long term? Many people say, it's hard to get rich as an actor?

I consider myself to have a business “blood” and do business. But at present, filmmaking is still my main profession.

As for income from acting, it's true that over the years I've been living off my salary, I'm certainly not rich yet because my film market is different, it can't be compared to actors in other countries.

How is Quang Su's life after busy days of filming or doing business?

If I'm not filming or working, my day is pretty simple.

Most of my time will be spent with my family and close relationships to make up for the time I have to travel far and film continuously.

Sometimes my family and I go on trips, camping... or we just stay home eating and playing with everyone.
