On the morning of November 2, the Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Fatherland Front Committee of Phu Son Ward (Thanh Hoa City) held a ceremony to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the Ward Party Committee (June 15, 1954 - June 15, 2024) and receive the First Class Labor Medal.

Authorized by the President, Comrade Le Anh Xuan, Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Thanh Hoa City, awarded the First Class Labor Medal to the People and officials of Phu Son Ward.

Attending the ceremony were comrade Le Anh Xuan, member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Thanh Hoa City; representatives of the Provincial Police, the Provincial Emulation and Reward Board; leaders of the City Party Committee, the People's Committee of Thanh Hoa City; former ward leaders and a large number of cadres, party members and people of Phu Son Ward.

On June 15, 1954, Tran Phu Party Cell (the predecessor of today's Phu Son Ward Party Cell) was established, and comrade Hoang Van Gian was appointed as Party Cell Secretary. This was an important event, marking a major turning point in the revolutionary movement in Phu Son at that time.

In 1960, Phu Son sub-region was established, Tran Phu Party cell was renamed Phu Son sub-region Party cell. In the following years, local Party grassroots organizations and Party members grew stronger, Phu Son sub-region established 3 independent Party cells: Tran Phu, Phu Tho and Chau Lam Son. To adapt to the revolutionary situation in the new period, on August 20, 1969, the three Party cells merged into Phu Son sub-region Party cell, comrade Trinh To was appointed to hold the position of Party Secretary.

Since the merger, the Phu Son sub-region Party Committee has led the people to successfully carry out the task of restoring, renovating and developing the economy, culture and society, contributing human and material resources to defeating the two destructive wars of the invading American imperialists.

After 1975, in response to new development requirements, on January 3, 1981, the Government Council issued Decision No. 03/CP "On unifying the names of administrative units in the inner city and inner town". Based on the Government's decision, on July 3, 1981, according to Decision No. 511-TC/UBTH of the People's Committee of Thanh Hoa province, the sub-regions of Thanh Hoa town were all converted into wards. Phu Son sub-region was converted into Phu Son ward.

On April 11, 2002, the Government issued Decree No. 44/2002/ND-CP on the establishment of wards in Thanh Hoa City. Phu Son Ward was divided into two wards, Phu Son and Tan Son. Immediately after the separation, the Party organization and government of Phu Son Ward quickly stabilized the situation and continued to lead the people to successfully implement socio-economic development goals.

From the first Tran Phu Party cell when it was established with 5 party members, up to now, after 18 congresses, Phu Son Ward Party Committee has 927 party members, operating in 20 affiliated party cells. Through each congress, Phu Son Ward Party Committee has grown stronger and more comprehensive in all aspects. In 2024, the people and cadres of Phu Son Ward were honored to receive the First Class Labor Medal from the President. This is a great honor and pride, encouraging the Party Committee, government and people of Phu Son to promote the highest spirit of "Self-reliance, self-confidence, self-reliance, self-strengthening, national pride" with the country entering the "New Era, the era of national development".

Speaking at the ceremony, comrade Le Anh Tuan, Standing Deputy Secretary of Thanh Hoa City Party Committee, praised and congratulated the outstanding achievements of Phu Son Ward Party Committee over the past 70 years.

Implementing Resolution No. 1238/2024/UBTVQH15 on the arrangement of district and commune-level administrative units of Thanh Hoa province in the period of 2023-2025, Tan Son ward will be merged into Phu Son ward. In order to successfully implement the socio-economic development goals of the new administrative unit, the Standing Deputy Secretary of the Thanh Hoa City Party Committee proposed: The Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Fatherland Front and organizations, agencies and units in the political system prepare the necessary conditions to merge Tan Son ward into Phu Son ward and stabilize the apparatus after the merger. Each cadre, civil servant and public employee, first of all the members of the Standing Committee and members of the Party Executive Committee of the ward, need to uphold the sense of responsibility, make efforts, be proactive and creative in organizing and performing tasks, further enhancing the image and position of the ward in the new period.

Along with that, it is necessary to take care of building and rectifying the Party, building a truly clean and strong political system associated with improving the leadership, direction and management capacity of the Party Committee, the government and the mass mobilization capacity of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and mass organizations. Maintain solidarity and unity within the Party Committee to focus on leading, directing and successfully organizing the congresses of subordinate Party cells and the 19th Phu Son Ward Party Congress, term 2025-2030.
