On September 20, the Standing Committee of Hai Duong Provincial Party Committee announced that it had decided to discipline Mr. Le Van Thoan, member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Secretary of the City Police Party Committee, former Head of Chi Linh City Police.

The Standing Committee of Hai Duong Provincial Party Committee decided to discipline Mr. Le Van Thoan by removing him from the position of member of the Executive Committee of the Chi Linh City Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term.

According to the decision of the Standing Committee of the Hai Duong Provincial Party Committee, Mr. Le Van Thoan, as Secretary of the Party Committee and Chief of the Chi Linh City Police, is responsible as the head for the violations of the Standing Committee of the Chi Linh City Police Party Committee in loosening leadership and management, lacking inspection and supervision so that party members, cadres and soldiers under his management violated the law in performing assigned tasks, causing serious consequences, creating bad public opinion among cadres, party members and people, reducing the prestige of himself and the party organization, agency and unit.

Previously, in May 2023, Mr. Thoan was transferred to the Department of Organization and Personnel of Hai Duong Provincial Police to await consideration of responsibility.

As reported, on February 8, the Investigation Police Agency of Hai Duong Province Police initiated a case, prosecuted and temporarily detained 6 subjects who were former officers of the Traffic Police - Order Team of Chi Linh City Police.

The defendants were investigated for the crime of " Abusing position and power while performing official duties " which occurred on February 4, causing bad public opinion.
