Chief of the Provincial Traffic Safety Committee Office - Mr. Phan Duc Tien said that through the inspection work, propaganda and dissemination of the implementation of legal regulations on inland waterway traffic will be integrated; focusing on newly issued legal documents.

Focus on propaganda and mobilization of vehicle owners, inland waterway port owners, and traffic participants to equip and use life jackets and life-saving buoyancy tools; transport goods with clear origin, in accordance with safe waterline markings, and carry the correct number of people; and ensure that vehicles participating in traffic meet operating conditions.

On the occasion of the National Day holiday of September 2, in addition to propagating and guiding the full implementation of relevant legal regulations on inland waterway transport activities, members of the team conducted inspections of organizations and individuals doing business in inland waterway transport; units managing and exploiting inland waterway ports; organizations and individuals related to inland waterway activities.

Handling violations in passenger and cargo transport business activities on passenger transport routes from shore to islands, reservoir areas, in tourist areas, river crossings, passenger wharves, water vehicles serving tourism and festivals. In particular, the team focuses on inspecting passenger transport activities at river crossings, tourist wharves, especially Cua Dai - Cu Lao Cham wharf with many tourists traveling during the National Day holiday on September 2nd to ensure traffic safety and order.

In addition, the provincial interdisciplinary working group organizes inspections of localities in the implementation of directives of the Central Government, the Provincial People's Committee, the Provincial Traffic Safety Committee, the Department of Transport, and the Provincial Police in ensuring traffic safety and order on inland waterways. Surveys complex locations with potential risks of causing traffic insecurity on inland waterways, synthesizes comments, and proposes solutions to advise competent authorities for consideration and handling.

According to the issued detailed plan, the provincial interdisciplinary inspection team will be deployed in 2 phases; phase 1 from August 26 to September 24, phase 2 from September 26 to October 16, 2024. The inspection areas are in the localities of Nui Thanh, Phu Ninh (Phu Ninh Lake), Hoi An, Duy Xuyen, Tam Ky, Dai Loc, Nong Son, Hiep Duc, Thang Binh and other hydroelectric and irrigation lakes.
