On the afternoon of September 21, at a regular press conference providing information on socio-economic issues of Ho Chi Minh City, Mr. Ho Tan Minh, Chief of Office of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City, affirmed that when speaking at the conference on September 12, the Director of the Department only requested that teachers not suddenly or unexpectedly check the beginning of the class, not prohibit checking the lesson at the beginning of the class.

According to Mr. Minh, the Department's policy is not to conduct surprise tests, but not to prohibit oral tests at the beginning of the class. Surprise tests often put pressure on students right from the beginning of the class, making them worried..., so they should not be implemented.

"The test takes place in two forms: regular and early. Regular tests include many forms, including oral tests. However, teachers need to have a test plan and test to know whether students have grasped the knowledge or not," Mr. Minh emphasized.

Previously, on September 12, at the conference to summarize the 2022-2023 school year and deploy tasks for the 2023-2024 school year, Mr. Nguyen Van Hieu, Director of Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training, said that there is still a situation at the beginning of the class where teachers suddenly call students to answer questions. This unintentionally puts pressure on students.

Mr. Hieu emphasized that the form and quality of teaching play an important role in building a happy school, where students come to school happily and confidently. Teachers can start the lesson in a gentle and lively way to help students enjoy and be excited about the lesson.
