Binh Phuoc Cultural Exhibition Space: A Place Connecting Past and Present

(DN) - For more than 20 years of operation, the Binh Phuoc Museum (old), now the Binh Phuoc Cultural Exhibition Space, under the Dong Nai Provincial Museum, has done a good job in research, collection, inventory, preservation and display of propaganda. Up to now, the exhibition space is storing over 500 artifacts, images and documents related to the cultural history of the locality and the country.

A place that holds many historical values

The artifacts displayed at the Binh Phuoc Cultural Exhibition Space all bear the historical mark of the formation and development of the old Binh Phuoc province. In addition, the artifacts also demonstrate the cultural, scientific and archaeological values of the Binh Phuoc ethnic community.

In the prominent archaeological exhibition space, visitors will witness a series of valuable artifacts such as: bronze drums, lithophones, stone axes, grinding tables, jewelry, pottery pieces... important relics such as: the circular earthen citadel system, Bai Tien site... Notably, artifacts from the period of resistance against France, America and the southwestern border of the Binh Phuoc people (old). Each artifact is attached with a QR code, helping people and visitors easily learn more about its origin and history.

One of the impressive highlights that attracts people when they come to visit is the Loc Hoa lithophone set (Loc Ninh district, former Binh Phuoc province), discovered in October 1996. This lithophone set is solemnly displayed on a wooden shelf with a protective glass cabinet.

Besides lithophones, the prehistoric imprint in Binh Phuoc is also clearly shown through the typical bronze drums of Binh Phuoc culture such as: Loc Tan, Tho Son, Long Hung... The system of circular earthen citadels is also a point of attraction for tourists. Binh Phuoc province (old) has found more than 70 of these earthen citadels, distributed in many areas. In the archaeological exhibition space, this system of relics is meticulously and detailedly recreated with rich and diverse images, artifacts and documents.

Tourists' impressions when visiting

Visiting the Binh Phuoc Cultural Exhibition Space, many tourists are surprised by the exhibition rooms with many valuable antiques.

Ms. Le Thi Thanh, a resident of Binh Phuoc Ward, expressed her special impression of the space displaying artifacts here. “When I visited, I was especially interested in the archaeological display space. Among them, I was impressed by the unique cultural features of the Stieng people, especially the meticulously hand-woven brocade costumes with many eye-catching motifs,” Ms. Thanh shared.

Pham Phuoc Thinh, a 9th grade student at Tan Xuan Secondary School, Binh Phuoc Ward, said: "When I see war relics such as guns, bullets, images of soldiers with bicycles, airplanes, etc., I feel grateful to the soldiers and love my homeland more."

Ms. To Thi Hue, Deputy Head of the Department of Management and Exploitation of Monuments of Dong Nai Museum, said that the exhibition space always welcomes a large number of visitors, especially on holidays and Tet. The visitors are very diverse, from preschool to high school students. On peak days, this place welcomes more than 1,000 visitors.

“July is the month to pay tribute to heroic martyrs, the number of visitors coming to offer incense, visit, learn and study at the relics has increased dramatically compared to the same period last year,” Ms. Hue added.
