Economists say that in the coming time, to achieve the goal of Vietnam becoming a developing country by 2030, it is necessary to promote the spirit of innovation and entrepreneurship to increase labor productivity.
Thanks to the attention, direction and orientation of the Government, the Ministry of Planning and Investment, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Education and Training and the leaders of provinces, cities and localities; the positivity of the startup community, currently, across the country, many units have been formed to support Innovative Startups, both in the state sector, the business sector and from international organizations according to many diverse and rich models.
About 20 localities have established and are establishing centers to support Innovative Startups, and nearly 100 incubators and organizations to promote startups nationwide have been operating. Many international startup and innovation centers are operating or collaborating to operate innovation spaces in Vietnam. Thanks to that, Vietnam ranks 58th in the global startup ecosystem rankings.
However, according to Mr. Bui Trung Nghia, Vice President of the Vietnam Federation of Commerce and Industry, our country's innovative startup ecosystem still needs to continue to be improved, to create the most favorable conditions for innovative startups to be formed and developed.
Mr. Nghia said: "In addition to legal corridors and support policies, Vietnam's Innovation Ecosystem needs Innovation Startup Support Centers as the core to mobilize, exploit, connect and optimize resources, especially achievements in research and application of science and technology into life, from local, central, from the business sector and from international organizations".
To contribute to realizing the goal of Vietnam becoming a developing country by 2030, Deputy Head of the Central Economic Commission Nguyen Duc Hien said that it is necessary to promote the spirit of innovation and entrepreneurship to increase labor productivity.
"We must promote the start-up process, including innovative start-ups, to boost productivity. Currently, among the evaluation indicators over the half-term of the 13th Congress and more broadly during the implementation period of the 2011-2020 strategy, a very challenging indicator for Vietnam is the issue of labor productivity. Therefore, to achieve this, there must be activities to promote the development of science, technology, innovation, and start-up activities," said Mr. Hien.
