VHO - On April 28, the People's Committee of Quang Binh province held a groundbreaking ceremony for the auxiliary works and launched the project to upgrade and embellish the historical relic where 16 Youth Volunteers sacrificed their lives at Long Dai Ferry Terminal II (Quang Ninh - Quang Binh).

This is an important activity, continuing the tradition of "When drinking water, remember its source", "Repaying gratitude", at the same time expressing gratitude to the heroic martyrs who sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland and a practical activity to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025).

The auxiliary works and the project to upgrade and embellish the historical site where 16 Youth Volunteers died at Long Dai Ferry Terminal II have a total estimated cost of about 20 billion VND.

The main items include: construction of a stele house with an area of ​​2,800m²; a modern celebration house including reception room, display room, toilet, warehouse and security room; two rows of waiting houses serving the lantern releasing ceremony and the corresponding lantern releasing dock;

Build a boat dock to serve tourists on the river tourism route to visit prominent historical sites of Southern Quang Binh such as Nhat Le River Estuary, Quan Hau Ferry, Than Dinh Mountain, and Ben Tiem War Zone.

The project also repaired degraded items and built a monument and a bas-relief depicting the heroic, indomitable spirit and aspiration for peace of the former Youth Volunteer Force, contributing to the creation of a sustainable historical - cultural - spiritual relic complex, spreading moral values ​​and precious historical traditions to all generations, arousing and lighting the flame of national pride in the hearts of every Vietnamese person.

Mr. Phan Phong Phu - Vice Chairman of Quang Binh Provincial People's Committee hopes that relevant units will implement the project to ensure completion according to the set purpose, requirements and schedule;

Strengthen propaganda work, promptly reflect the progress and activities related to the project, widely spread the humanistic meaning and profound historical value of the project.

Thereby contributing to arousing national pride, fostering love for the homeland, educating revolutionary traditions for today's and tomorrow's young generations.

Also on this occasion, the Organizing Committee awarded 21 gifts to veterans, youth volunteers and historical witnesses with a total value of 42 million VND.
