Specifically, the pregnant woman HTMH (22 years old, residing in Tay Khanh Vinh commune, Khanh Hoa province) was admitted to Khanh Hoa General Hospital in a state of premature labor when the fetus was only 26 weeks old, in a breech position.

After birth, the baby cried weakly, was put on non-invasive ventilation and was immediately transferred to the neonatal intensive care unit of the Pediatrics Department in a lethargic state, with severe respiratory failure, hemodynamic disorders, and a weight of 700g. The baby was diagnosed with acute respiratory distress syndrome, a large patent ductus arteriosus, and neonatal sepsis and was treated with incubator nutrition, invasive ventilation, and a Surfactant pump to support the lungs.

However, the condition did not improve, the child was transferred to a high-frequency oscillatory ventilator to maintain stable blood oxygen. At the same time, combined antibiotic treatment, closure of the ductus arteriosus with drugs, adjustment of blood coagulation disorders and complete intravenous nutrition. After 3 days of mechanical ventilation without improvement, the doctors in the department consulted to inject Surfactant for the second time. And after 2 weeks of intensive treatment, the child's lung condition improved and the endotracheal tube was removed, and the child was transferred to a nasal prong ventilator.

The baby continued to receive intravenous nutrition with full nutrition and began to try breast milk. By day 43, the baby was breastfeeding well, weighed 1.5 kg, was in stable health and was discharged from the hospital.
