Although the race officially started at 3:30 p.m. on March 23, many hours before, a large audience had gathered at Thi Nai lagoon to watch the best jet ski racers from many countries around the world.

Mr. Nguyen Quang Vinh (37 years old, a tourist from Ho Chi Minh City) excitedly said: "I came to Quy Nhon many days ago. Today I am very eager to watch this race. This is a very interesting and exciting race. I came here early to find the most favorable position for myself."

This year's race kicks off with the girls' Ski Ladies event, featuring reigning world champion Jessica Chavanne.

As the racers took their starting positions, the atmosphere in the stands at Thi Nai lagoon was extremely lively and bustling. The continuous cheers and encouragements mixed with the roar of the engines seemed to tear the blue sky apart.

The starting signal was sounded and the racers shot forward like bullets. In the stands, thousands of spectators exploded with excitement.

"It's amazing. Just sitting here, listening to the roar of the powerful engines is extremely exciting. Before, I only watched it on TV, but I've never seen it live like this. Watching people race live, all my senses feel satisfied," said Nguyen Tan Trong (a Quy Nhon resident).
