Jung Il Woo loves Vietnamese sour fish soup

On the evening of August 2, YouTube channel HanQuocBros posted a video of a conversation with Jung Il Woo on the occasion of the Korean actor's visit to Vietnam to promote the film Mang me di bo . This is a Vietnamese-Korean co-production film, in which Jung Il Woo plays a supporting role.

Jung Il Woo loves Vietnam very much and has traveled and enjoyed Vietnamese cuisine many times. This time, HanQuocBros channel introduces him to a dish in a family meal: sour fish soup.

Jung Il Woo said Vietnamese cuisine suits his taste. He is not afraid to try new dishes because he believes he will like them.

When filming Mang Me Di Bo, he only had scenes to film in Korea so he couldn't come to Vietnam. During this film promotion, he came to Vietnam and stayed for a long time to interact with the audience, walk around and chat with the media.

YouTuber Choi Jong Rak of the HanQuocBros channel is living in Ho Chi Minh City. The audience jokingly calls him the "canh chua ambassador" because he loves this dish and often introduces it to his guests. Jung Il Woo is no exception, Choi Jong Rak prepared a traditional Vietnamese meal including fish sour soup.

Jung Il Woo was also surprised that the sour soup had fish, tomatoes and pineapple, ingredients that were very different from Korean soups. As soon as he took his first sip of the soup, he exclaimed: "It's delicious! This is sour."

Choi Jong Rak was pleased when Jung Il Woo liked this dish and added: "It's delicious, right? This is my favorite dish." The two enjoyed a meal of fried tofu with onions and braised pork and eggs.

Jung Il Woo likes coriander and stir-fried water spinach with garlic.

Besides the affection of Vietnamese audiences, Jung Il Woo has a great love for Vietnamese food. He said that in Korea, only beef noodle shops are popular, dishes like banh xeo are harder to find.

He also enjoys cooking Vietnamese food and has made his own pho. He stews beef for hours to make the broth, then shreds the brisket.

So when he came to Vietnam, he was very excited to eat dishes made with Vietnamese ingredients, such as chili, mint, coriander, and stir-fried water spinach with garlic.

The actor commented that Vietnamese food is very suitable for Korean taste. He also wants to take his family to travel to Vietnam to learn more about Vietnamese culture.

Jung Il Woo's role in Mang Me Di Bo is the young husband of Ms. Hanh (played by Juliet Bao Ngoc).

Initially, the character did not need to speak Vietnamese, but he asked to speak Vietnamese because his character fell in love and married a Vietnamese woman. He asked Juliet Bao Ngoc to teach him to say the sentences "from now on, I like you", "Le Thi Hanh"...

Because he is very friendly with Vietnam and open to integrating with Vietnamese culture, Jung Il Woo is often called "Vietnamese son" or "son-in-law" by Vietnamese audiences.

Choi Jong Rak said he also saw a banner from the audience that said: "Mr. Jung Il Woo is not a guest in Vietnam but family." Hearing that, the Korean actor was very touched and placed both hands on his heart.
