Vietnam Jujitsu ranked 3rd in Asia

At the end of the professional level at the 2025 Asian Jujitsu Championship, the Vietnamese jujitsu team won 3rd place overall after Thailand and Kazakhstan.

On the evening of May 25, Vietnam time, the Vietnamese jujitsu team with 11 athletes finished the professional competitions at the 2025 Asian Jujitsu Championship. The tournament took place from May 23 to 26 in Jordan.

The Vietnamese jujitsu team achieved impressive results with a total of 7 gold medals, 2 silver medals and 6 bronze medals. The overall team's achievements ranked 3rd after Thailand and Kazakhstan.

Among the athletes' achievements, the most impressive were boxer Nguyen Thi Thanh Truc, who won 3 gold medals in the women's over 70kg category in fighting and contact; boxer Tran Hong An, who won 2 gold medals in the women's under 52kg contact category and women's under 57kg fighting category;

Boxer Nguyen Thi Minh Vuong won a silver medal in the women's contact under 63kg and a bronze medal in the women's fighting under 70kg.

Other female medalists include: Ngo Thi Thao Van - gold medal in women's under-70kg contact; Vuong Tran Hoai Thuong - silver medal in women's under-57kg fighting, bronze medal in women's under-52kg contact; and Ha Thi Anh Uyen - bronze medal in women's under-63kg contact.

The most notable male boxer, Dao Hong Son, also won the gold medal in the men's contact under 56kg and the bronze medal in the men's fighting under 56kg.

In the team events, Vietnamese jujitsu won 2 bronze medals, belonging to: mixed pair Can Van Thang, Tran Hong An; and men's pair Nguyen Tien Trien, Van Suu.

Being in the top of the 2025 Asian Jujitsu Championship is an encouraging achievement for the Vietnamese jujitsu team, which is in the process of reviewing its forces towards a high goal at the 33rd SEA Games in Thailand - a very strong opponent.

On May 26, the 2025 Asian Jujitsu Championship continued to take place with competitions and performances in the U21 category. The Vietnamese jujitsu team promises to reap more gold medals with young faces who have long been the pillars of the team.
