Apple's senior vice president of worldwide marketing, Greg Joswiak, said that Apple has some "exciting" announcements coming next week, and included an image of the Finder application on a Mac, implying a series of upgrades to the product line.

After the iPad upgraded to the M4 chip in May, the market expected Apple to launch two new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models next week.

A base 14-inch version is equipped with the M4 chip, while the two high-end 14 and 16-inch versions will have more powerful chips, the M4 Pro and M4 Max.

The new MacBook Pros are unlikely to change their design or display. But the base 14-inch model is expected to get an additional Thunderbolt port than the current model. Apple may increase the minimum RAM to 16GB instead of 8GB across the entire lineup. Apple last redesigned the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros in 2021.

Along with the MacBook Pro, the iMac line is expected to be equipped with the M4 chip, an upgrade from the M3, which was launched in 2023. This All-in-One computer model also does not change significantly in appearance. The included accessories include a Magic Keyboard with Touch ID, a Magic Mouse, and a Magic Trackpad with a USB-C connection port. These are the last accessories to remove the Lightning port.

Like the MacBook Pro and iMac, the next-generation Mac Mini could also feature an M4 or M4 Pro chip. The Mac Mini will be smaller overall, roughly the same size as the Apple TV. The new model will also feature two USB-C ports on the front.

If the above rumor is correct, the Mac Mini design will have changed significantly since 2010. Currently, there is no information about the standard RAM capacity of the product, which will be 8 GB or 16 GB.

In the second quarter of 2024, Apple achieved a profit of 21.4 billion USD, with revenue of 85.8 billion USD, up 5% compared to the same period in 2023. But in the Chinese market, Apple has been under pressure from domestic competitors such as Huawei in recent years.

According to market analysis firm Canalys, Apple was only the sixth-largest smartphone vendor in China in the second quarter of 2024, up from third place in the same period last year.
