Coach Shin Tae-yong's contract with the Indonesian Football Federation (PSSI) expires in June 2024.

Recently, the Korean coach revealed that he intends to take a new job at another team and will not continue to lead the Indonesian team.

Bola Indonesia newspaper said: " The two matches with the Vietnamese team in March 2024 are very important for Mr. Shin Tae-yong. The results of the match will have a decisive meaning for this coach's contract. He is a hot topic of discussion in Indonesian football . No one knows whether coach Shin Tae-yong can continue his job or not."

This prestigious football news site cited the four-year period in which coach Shin Tae-yong led the U19, U23 and Indonesian national teams.

This coach has not won any notable titles. At the same time, a part of Indonesian fans believe that Mr. Shin has not changed the face of football in this country.

" Coach Shin Tae-yong's four years leading the Indonesian national team were nothing special ," Bola quoted Indonesian fans as saying.

On the PSSI side, President Erick Thohir expressed a neutral opinion on the future of coach Shin Tae-yong. The former Inter Milan president said he wanted to keep Shin Tae-yong, but if the coach insisted on leaving, he would agree and not force him.

However, the condition that this businessman put forth was only half fulfilled by coach Shin Tae-yong. The Indonesian team passed the group stage of the 2023 Asian Cup.

After that, Mr. Shin needs to have good results at the U23 Asian Cup and the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, then the contract between the two sides will be extended until June 2027.

According to some sources from the Indonesian press, Mr. Shin will receive a salary of up to 1.5 million USD/year if he signs a new contract with PSSI.
