Colonel Nguyen Dinh Duc, member of the Presidium of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Head of the National Defense Trade Union Committee attended and directed; Colonel Tran Duc Thang, Deputy Chief of Political Affairs of the Military Region, Head of the Organizing Committee of the Contest chaired the opening ceremony; Attending the Contest were leaders and commanders of agencies, localities, and units in the armed forces of the Military Region; representatives of the Standing Committee of the Trade Union of the Vietnam Rubber Industry Group, and the Ho Chi Minh City Trade Union College.

This year's competition has 8 participating teams: Military Region General Staff, Military Region Political Department, Military Region Logistics Department, Southwest Company, Dong Hai Company, Textile Company 7, Military Region Military School, National Defense Economic Group 778.

Colonel Tran Duc Thang, Deputy Chief of Political Affairs of the Military Region, Head of the Organizing Committee of the Contest, delivered the opening speech.

With the theme "Proactive, creative, intelligent, talented union officials", the participating teams performed 3 parts: Greeting contest; Knowledge and situation handling contest; Talent contest.

The contest is an opportunity for union officials in the Military Region's armed forces to study, exchange experiences, learn from each other, and improve their professional knowledge. At the same time, through the contest, it aims to promote education and propaganda on the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws, and regulations of the Army and the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.

The knowledge and experience presented in the contest content will help union officials apply creativity in their work and organize activities for union members; contribute to building an excellent and strong union organization, promoting democracy, talent, and improving production and business efficiency.

The Head of the Organizing Committee of the Contest requested: The Jury and the Secretariat must conduct the Contest strictly and seriously, evaluate the results objectively, honestly and fairly for the content of each participating team and individual. The participating teams and individuals must thoroughly understand and strictly implement the rules and regulations in the spirit of solidarity, mutual support, learning from each other, and striving to achieve the highest results. The relevant agencies and units must proactively coordinate and cooperate to ensure attentive service, contributing to the success of the Contest.

After the opening ceremony, the teams enthusiastically performed their performances; closely following the content and requirements of the Organizing Committee, reflecting the thoughts and aspirations of union members; at the same time, integrating propaganda and education to help union members and workers stay attached to their agencies, units and enterprises, constantly striving to fulfill their tasks well; actively contributing to the achievements of each agency, unit, enterprise and armed force of the Military Region.

At the end of the contest, the Military Region Command awarded Certificates of Merit to 7 comrades who won First, Second and Third prizes; the Military Region Political Department awarded Certificates of Merit to 1 comrade who won Encouragement prize and 5 excellent performances of the participating teams.
