Hoa Phat kicks off investment project of Hoa Tam Industrial Park - Phase 1 and Bai Goc Port

On August 19, 2025, Hoa Phat held a launching ceremony for the investment project to construct and operate the infrastructure of Hoa Tam Industrial Park - Phase 1 and Bai Goc Port in Hoa Xuan Commune, Dak Lak Province. These are projects in the program to start and inaugurate 80 key national projects on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of National Day (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025).

Representatives of the Ministry of Industry and Trade , Central Departments, leaders of Dak Lak province and Hoa Phat Group pressed the button to start the project.

Attending the event were Mr. Nguyen Hong Dien - Minister of Industry and Trade, Mr. Pham Dai Duong - Deputy Head of the Central Policy and Strategy Committee, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Trung - Secretary of Dak Lak Provincial Party Committee, Mr. Ta Anh Tuan - Chairman of Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee, and representatives of central and local departments and branches. On Hoa Phat's side, there were Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Group Tran Dinh Long, General Director Nguyen Viet Thang, Board of Directors of Bai Goc Phu Yen Port Joint Stock Company, Hoa Tam Industrial Park Infrastructure Development Company.

Speaking at the launching ceremony, Mr. Ta Anh Tuan - Chairman of Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee emphasized: "Investment projects in Nam Phu Yen Economic Zone contribute to making Dak Lak a new growth pole of the Central Highlands and South Central Coast, creating a spillover effect for the development of trade and service sectors of Dak Lak province; creating jobs for tens of thousands of local workers, contributing to improving people's lives, stabilizing social security and increasing sustainable budget revenue. These are projects that the government and people here have long wanted to implement."

Hoa Phat Group Chairman Tran Dinh Long said: Hoa Phat is the largest steel producer in Southeast Asia with 16 million tons of steel/year, equivalent to the Top 30 in the world. The Group has created jobs for 33,000 direct workers and hundreds of thousands of indirect workers nationwide. Each year, Hoa Phat contributes about 15,000 billion VND to the state budget, affirming the role of a large private enterprise in the country's economy.

Responding to the Government's double-digit growth target, Hoa Phat continues to expand investment, especially in the production of high-quality steel. With the support of the Government, the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the leaders of Dak Lak province, we decided to invest in Bai Goc Port and the Iron and Steel Complex with a total investment of VND 120 trillion in the province in the period from 2025 to 2030. The Iron and Steel Complex is divided into two phases with a total capacity of 6 million tons/year. Phase 1 with a capacity of 3 million tons/year will be implemented from the end of 2025. When the project is completed, Hoa Phat's steel production capacity will reach 22 million tons/year.

“The implementation of these projects aims to realize the Group's commitments to the Government and Dak Lak province. With its tradition and experience over the past 33 years, Hoa Phat will implement them very quickly and effectively. When completed, the above projects will elevate Vietnam's position on the world steel industry map, contribute 10 trillion VND to the state budget each year, create jobs for 15,000 workers, and give maximum priority to local people,” Mr. Tran Dinh Long shared.

Mr. Ta Anh Tuan - Chairman of Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee presented the investment policy for the Construction of Bai Goc Port Project to General Director of Hoa Phat Group Nguyen Viet Thang.

The Bai Goc Port Project in Hoa Xuan Commune, Dak Lak Province is divided into 2 phases with a total investment of about 24,000 billion VND. The Bai Goc Port Project will directly serve the needs of forming and developing the Hoa Tam Industrial Park, the oil refinery, metallurgy and energy industry complex in the area. The port has a scale of 13 specialized berths with a capacity of up to 250,000 DWT; 06 general cargo berths with a capacity of up to 50,000 DWT; 06 liquid/gas export berths with a capacity of up to 50,000 DWT and 01 SPM berth. Before 2030, the port will be built to ensure the loading and unloading and exploitation of about 26 million tons of goods/year.

Previously, on May 30, 2025, the People's Committee of Phu Yen province (now Dak Lak) approved the investment policy and approved the investor of the Hoa Tam Industrial Park Infrastructure Construction and Business Investment Project (phase 1). The project is implemented by Hoa Tam Industrial Park Infrastructure Development Joint Stock Company (under Hoa Phat Group) with a land use scale of about 491 hectares; total investment capital of more than 4,000 billion VND. Hoa Tam Industrial Park is invested in synchronous infrastructure construction with the goal of serving the formation of the Hoa Phat Iron and Steel Complex with an expected capacity of 6 million tons.
