On the morning of March 29, at Cua Viet tourist service area, Gio Linh district (Quang Tri province), the launching ceremony of the Southern fishing season and promotion and introduction of sea tourism and service activities in 2024 took place.

At this event, many people were excited and delighted to see the presence of Miss Universe Vietnam 2022 Nguyen Thi Ngoc Chau and 2nd Runner-up Huynh Pham Thuy Tien.

Mr. Vo Dac Hoa, Chairman of Gio Linh District People's Committee, said that the district currently has 862 ships and boats, with a total capacity of 101,590 CV; of which 168 are offshore fishing vessels. To date, the district has over 200 seafood processing establishments, creating jobs for thousands of workers.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Ha Sy Dong, Permanent Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Tri province, said that promoting the potential of marine, island and coastal resources associated with ecosystem protection is not only important for socio-economic development and environmental protection but also contributes to firmly protecting the sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland.

Entering the Southern fishing season and the 2024 sea tourism season, Mr. Ha Sy Dong requested provincial agencies, departments, and coastal localities to continue to fully implement and effectively promote policies to support fishermen; encourage owners of offshore fishing vessels and service vessels to build new ones, and fish offshore, ensuring safety and higher efficiency.

Particularly for Gio Linh district, Mr. Ha Sy Dong requested to effectively implement economic development programs in coastal areas, soon turning the marine economy into the spearhead economy of the district. Strengthen management and consolidate beaches along the coastal route of Gio Linh district to become attractive destinations for tourists from inside and outside the province.

During the ceremony, there was a boat race and volleyball at sea. In particular, the ceremony had the presence of Miss Ngoc Chau and 2nd Runner-up Thuy Tien. The two beauties encouraged and presented 100 national flags to local fishermen to continue going out to sea.

It is known that the two beauties above participated in the program "Borders and islands in my heart" in 2024 organized by the Vietnam Youth Union of Ho Chi Minh City, taking place from March 28 to 30 in Quang Tri province.
