The image of Hong Dao losing her memory and wandering around in her old age makes everyone want to cry.

Movie Take mother away tells the emotional journey of a son (Tuan Tran) taking care of his mother with Alzheimer's disease (Hong Dao). At the end of the road, he has to consider taking his mother and leaving her with his brother in Korea, whom he has never met.

Hong Dao and the most desired role of her career

Taking on a difficult role, artist Hong Dao said she paid special attention to the script and the plausibility of the story. In "Abandoning Mother" , she highly appreciated the script as every detail surrounding the character Le Thi Hanh was built reasonably.

However, Hong Dao also wondered about the way Korean director Mo Hong Jin portrayed the image of Vietnamese women. During the working process, the two sides exchanged, analyzed and debated many times to ensure that the film retained the spirit and soul of the Vietnamese people.

This was the role that Hong Dao craved so much that she joked that she was "willing to spend money to buy the role if necessary". But in the end, her acting ability and suitability for the role convinced director Mo Hong Jin and producer Phan Gia Nhat Linh.

Hong Dao said that when she read the script, she found her character completely different from the characters with Alzheimer's disease in Korean films. She talked to the director and producer to find a way to exploit the character.

While researching the disease and studying some patients, including her mother's friend, Hong Dao realized that this disease is not only about forgetfulness, but also leads to heartbreaking stories for the patient and their relatives.

She appreciates her co-stars. Tuan Tran, Juliet Bao Ngoc and the entire film crew helped her perfect her character. Especially Tuan Tran works with the spirit of "the later take must be better than the previous take".

With the character of Mrs. Le Thi Hanh, Hong Dao promises the audience will both cry and laugh with a charming cast.
