On September 24, the People's Committee of Hau Giang province has just issued an official dispatch agreeing on the policy of establishing a 1/2,000 scale construction zoning plan for the Mekong resort urban area.

Accordingly, the Mekong resort urban area has an area of ​​about 2,945 hectares. The total construction investment is expected to be about 6.2 billion USD.

The expected items include: Water park area, thrilling amusement park area, Mekong food walking street and floating market area, Mekong village - museum area, Mekong live stage, 36-hole golf course, nursing - nursing center, art university, garden house area - combined with fruit garden...

Estimated population is about 300 thousand people, serving about 10 thousand tourists/day.

The project is a combination of resort tourism and unique cultural experiences of the Mekong Delta.

In the official dispatch, Hau Giang Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Construction to be the investor to carry out the project preparation.

Previously, at the end of August 2024, Vingroup Corporation approached this project.

At the meeting, Mr. Nghiem Xuan Thanh, Secretary of Hau Giang Provincial Party Committee, emphasized that the project opens up strong economic development opportunities for the locality.

At the same time, realize the goal of turning Chau Thanh district into an industrial - urban center of the province.
