“Journey to Reunification” is one of the rare documentary works that explores the pain of war and the journey of national reconciliation from parallel perspectives from both sides of the battle line, creating an honest, emotional and humane voice about the wounds of the past and the healing efforts of the present.
The film depicts the haunting yet everyday stories of veterans and their families who still carry with them the pain of loss, separation and doubt after the war ended more than half a century ago. The film not only evokes memories, but also reflects the lingering pain in families and the process of finding common ground after many years of silence.
An important highlight of the film is the story of Binh An People's Cemetery (formerly Bien Hoa Cemetery). The film records the journey to approach witnesses, veterans and relatives of those who died here - regardless of the winning or losing side - to recount memories in the spirit of reconciliation and humane commemoration.

“Journey to Unification” does not follow the traditional historical storytelling motif but chooses a way of editing with many cinematic elements, using expressive visual language.
The production team spent months researching, building trust, and convincing the characters to participate. This was not just a filmmaking process, but also a journey of accompanying, listening, and healing the emotional wounds that still bleed in many families.
