Vietnamese Airlines in the world's top 50 best 2023

For the fifth time in the 23-year history of the world's most prestigious awards, Singapore Airlines has been named the best airline in 2023.

Edward Plaisted, CEO of Skytrax, said: Singapore Airlines has achieved outstanding results in many award categories, such as its first class cabin being voted the best in the world.

To compile this year's results, Skytrax, a UK-based aviation consultancy, conducted independent customer surveys on more than 325 airlines worldwide between September 2022 and May 2023.

Vietnam Airlines appears in the list of 50 best airlines in the world

Qatar Airways - a seven-time Airline of the Year winner - came in second this year, followed by Japan's ANA All Nippon Airways, Emirates in fourth place and Japan Airlines in fifth place.

Among them, ANA took the lead with the highest hygiene standard award, being named the world's cleanest airline for the third consecutive year, as well as winning the world's best airport service award.

The remaining list of the top 20 best airlines in the world includes: Turkish Airlines, Air France, Cathay Pacific, EVA Air, Korean Air, Hainan Airlines, Swiss Int'l Air Lines, Etihad Airways, Iberia, Fiji Airways, Vistara, Qantas Airways, British Airways, Air New Zealand, Delta Air Lines.

Vietnam Airlines, the national carrier, appeared at 44th place in the top 50 best airlines in the world, up from 48th in 2022. Among them are Southeast Asian airlines such as Bangkok Airways (29), Garuda Indonesia (30), Air Asia (31), Thai Airways (40), Malaysia Airlines (47).

In addition, the world's best low-cost airlines in order include: AirAsia, Scoot, Indigo, Flynas, Volotea, Transavia France, Sun Country Airlines, Southwest Airlines, airBaltic, Jet2.com...

Vietjet Air was awarded the best low-cost airline in Vietnam.

The Skytrax World Airline Awards are considered the "Oscars" of the aviation industry, first held in 1999. The award results are based on passenger reviews through a survey conducted widely around the world.
