Hanoi information about the opening ceremony of the 2024-2025 school year

At the meeting of the Hanoi Party Committee's Propaganda Department on the morning of August 30, reporting on preparations for the new school year 2024-2025, Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training - Vuong Huong Giang said that in the 2024-2025 school year, Hanoi will have a total of 2,913 kindergartens and general schools at all levels (an increase of 39 schools compared to the previous year) with 2,238,000 students, 70,150 classes (an increase of 48,000 students compared to the same period last year) and 130,000 teachers. Along with that, there are 29 vocational education - continuing education centers.

There are 2,310 public schools (an increase of 26 schools compared to the same period last year) with 1,905,000 students, 51,000 classes (an increase of about 38,000 students compared to the same period last year) and 92,000 teachers. The 2024-2025 school year has successfully enrolled 120,168 grade 1 applications (90.89%) and 130,829 grade 6 applications (90.06%).

For the 10th grade high school entrance exam, Hanoi had 117,361 candidates register for the exam. As a result, the whole city had nearly 121,382 students officially enrolled (accounting for 87.72% of the target), of which the public sector had 71,302 students (accounting for 96.75% of the target) officially enrolled.

Public high schools enrolled 73,368 students, reaching 100.52% of the assigned target; autonomous public high schools enrolled 3,675 students, reaching 89.74% of the target; private high schools enrolled 28,709 students, reaching 73.07% of the target; vocational education and continuing education centers enrolled 10,233 students, reaching 83.36% of the assigned target...

Regarding the results of the 2024 high school graduation exam, the total number of high school graduates in 2024 in Hanoi is 104,034 candidates, reaching 99.81%, an increase of 0.25% and an increase of 5 ranks compared to 2023.

Regarding the preparation of facilities and tuition collection for the new school year 2024 - 2025. Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training - Vuong Huong Giang said that in the school year 2024 - 2025, public preschools and general education institutions in the city will implement tuition collection according to the provisions of Resolution No. 02/2024/NQ-HDND dated March 29, 2024 of the Hanoi People's Council. The opening ceremony will be held uniformly throughout the city on the morning of September 5, 2024.
