Kinhtedothi - On the evening of November 8, the program Hanoi Connects - Reaches Out opened, aiming to promote creative products, OCOP, and craft villages of women in Hanoi and provinces and cities in the Red River Delta. The program was organized by the Hanoi Women's Union.
Attending the program were Party Central Committee member, President of Vietnam Women's Union Nguyen Thi Tuyen; Permanent Deputy Secretary of Hanoi Party Committee Nguyen Van Phong; Vice Chairman of City People's Council Pham Qui Tien.
Attending the opening ceremony were representatives of the Women's Union of 10 provinces and cities in the Red River Delta; representatives of departments, branches, sectors, the Vietnam Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations of Hanoi; enterprises, cooperatives, cadres, women's union members...
The program is a meaningful activity to implement Resolution No. 30-NQ/TW dated November 23, 2022 of the Politburo on socio-economic development and ensuring national defense and security in the Red River Delta region to 2030, with a vision to 2045, to celebrate the National Great Unity Day in 2024.
Through the organization of 77 booths promoting agricultural products, craft villages, OCOP products, creative products of women in the capital and 10 provinces and cities in the Red River Delta at Lac Long Quan Flower Garden, Tay Ho District from November 8 to 10, the program aims to create opportunities for women and people in the capital to experience and enjoy specialties of Hanoi and other provinces and cities.
At the same time, this is also an opportunity for cooperatives, enterprises, and production and business establishments owned by women to exchange, connect production chains, and consume products in the region, unite to overcome difficulties, promote the women's start-up movement, promote local potential, and effectively implement projects approved by the Prime Minister on supporting women's start-ups.
This is the 4th year that the Hanoi - Connecting and Reaching Out Program has been organized under the direction of the Hanoi People's Committee and the Hanoi Women's Union. The program continues to affirm the message of Hanoi in its efforts to overcome difficulties, develop rapidly and sustainably, and have a spreading effect to promote the Red River Delta, the key economic region of the North and the whole country to develop together.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Chairwoman of the Hanoi Women's Union Le Kim Anh said that Resolution No. 30-NQ/TW dated November 23, 2022 of the Politburo "on socio-economic development and ensuring national defense and security in the Red River Delta region to 2030, with a vision to 2045" has identified the viewpoint: the Red River Delta region is a particularly important strategic area in terms of politics, economy, culture, society, environment, national defense, security and foreign affairs of the whole country. Maximizing the potential and outstanding advantages to rapidly and sustainably develop the Red River Delta region to truly be the leading development driving force, playing a role in guiding and leading the process of restructuring the economy and transforming the country's growth model.
With its position as the national political and administrative nerve center, the heart of the whole country; a major center of economics, culture, education and training, science - technology and international integration, in recent times, Hanoi has had cooperation agreements with more than 50 provinces and centrally-run cities; promoting development cooperation in many fields such as tourism, industry, services, trade, investment, culture, society...
At the same time, many activities promoting unique cultures and economic activities of many regions and localities are well organized in the capital as well as Hanoi's products are advertised in provinces and cities across the country.
To date, Hanoi's One Commune One Product (OCOP) Program ranks first in the country. By September 2024, the city had evaluated and classified 2,758 products. "In that result, there are important contributions from Women's Unions at all levels and women in the capital with many economic development models and many high-value products," emphasized Le Kim Anh, President of the City Women's Union.
Within the framework of the program, on the afternoon of November 8, a workshop was held on “Promoting the role of women in Hanoi and provinces and cities in the Red River Delta in supporting women to enhance economic empowerment, start-ups and innovation”.
The Women's Unions of Hanoi, Hai Phong and the provinces of the Red River Delta have reached a high consensus on signing a program of coordination of activities for the period 2024-2026, including 5 contents, aiming to strengthen the connection between the Women's Union organizations of 11 provinces and cities, contributing to the effective implementation of Resolution No. 30-NQ/TW dated November 23, 2022 of the Politburo "on socio-economic development and ensuring national defense and security in the Red River Delta region to 2030, with a vision to 2045" and the Capital Law 2024.
