Hanoi will eliminate exams and organize exams to promote teacher titles. |
The Hanoi Department of Home Affairs has just sent an official dispatch to relevant units regarding the assessment and review of standards and conditions for promotion of professional titles of public preschool and primary school teachers.
Accordingly, the Hanoi Department of Home Affairs plans to report to the City People's Committee to organize the promotion of the professional title of teachers from level III to level II by examining and selecting through records. Therefore, officials registering for promotion must have sufficient records and evidence according to regulations. However, teachers with less than 9 years of university degrees have not been approved.
Mr. Tran Dinh Canh, Director of the Hanoi Department of Home Affairs, said: "We will organize a review to promote the professional title of teachers. However, due to the large number of applications and the units that have submitted them have not yet reviewed them, the Department of Home Affairs is guiding the units to review them. Any case that meets the conditions and standards will be sent to the Department to make a project and submit it to the City People's Committee and the Ministry of Home Affairs for approval, after which, the recruitment will be organized."
According to Mr. Canh, due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, Hanoi has not organized these teacher promotion rounds in recent years. In 2023, the Hanoi Department of Home Affairs issued a document instructing localities, agencies, and units to register and make a list of proposals to upgrade professional titles from level III to level II, including teachers.
Hanoi Department of Home Affairs said that according to data reports from 33 agencies and units, in 2023, there were 32,167 applications for promotion from grade III to grade II for teachers. Of these, 20,392 were preschool teachers, 5,716 were primary school teachers, 2,790 were secondary school teachers, and 3,269 were high school teachers.
