Ensure absolute safety in organizing activities

According to Director of the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs Bach Lien Huong, implementing the plan of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee on leading, directing and organizing activities for the 2025 New Year and the Lunar New Year of At Ty in Hanoi, the Party Committee of the City People's Committee has directed units to develop a plan to absolutely ensure political security, order and social safety, proactively handle "outstanding" pressing issues of people's livelihood, illegal gatherings, fire prevention and fighting, traffic order and safety in the city before, during and after the New Year and Lunar New Year; approved before December 22, 2024.

Regarding the work of visiting and giving gifts, the Hanoi People's Committee has issued a plan to give gifts to policy beneficiaries on the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2025 with over 1.1 million gifts, with a total estimated cost of VND 567,631 billion. The completion time is before January 14, 2025 (ie December 15, Giap Thin year).

Regarding the implementation of the provisions of the 2024 Capital Law related to the additional income of cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers of Hanoi City, after the City People's Committee submitted, the City People's Council approved the Resolution regulating the additional income payment for cadres, civil servants and public employees working in State agencies, political organizations, Vietnam Fatherland Front, socio-political organizations and public service units whose regular expenditures are fully guaranteed by the State budget under the management of Hanoi City. Implementation period from January 1, 2025.

In addition, the City People's Committee issued a Plan on organizing activities to celebrate major holidays, important historical and political events of the country and the Capital in 2025 in the city. Activities to celebrate the New Year 2025 include: the New Year 2025 event (Countdown) on the evening of December 31 at Dong Kinh Nghia Thuc Square and Cach Mang Thang Tam Square; organizing fireworks displays at 5 points (6 locations) in Hoan Kiem district, Ha Dong district, Nam Tu Liem district, Son Tay town, Dong Anh district from 0:00 - 0:15 on January 1, 2025.

For the activities to celebrate the Lunar New Year of At Ty 2025, including: Hanoi International Light Festival held in Tay Ho district scheduled at 20:00 on January 18, 2024; Brilliant Thang Long 2025 program at the stage area in front of My Dinh National Stadium and the F1 racing track area scheduled from 21:00 - 23:59 on January 28, 2025. Hanoi City also plans to organize fireworks displays at 30 locations (31 locations), including 9 high-altitude and low-altitude fireworks displays (10 locations), 21 low-altitude fireworks displays in 30 districts, towns and cities from 0:00 - 0:15 on January 29, 2025 (the first day of the Lunar New Year of At Ty). In addition, the City People's Committee assigned the Department of Culture and Sports to organize many cultural and artistic activities to celebrate the New Year.

Prepare goods ready to serve the people

Regarding the work of visual decoration and lighting, Director of the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs Bach Lien Huong said that the Party Committee of the City People's Committee, the City People's Committee, and the Department of Culture and Sports have issued plans on organizing information, decoration, and visual propaganda to welcome the New Year 2025 (New Year's Day); to celebrate the 95th anniversary of the Party's founding (February 3, 1930 - February 3, 2025) and celebrate the Lunar New Year of At Ty according to the principle of 50% traditional methods and 50% modern methods. The time for decoration, propaganda, and visual propaganda to welcome the New Year 2025 (New Year's Day) is from December 18, 2024 to January 10, 2025; to celebrate the 95th anniversary of the Party's founding and celebrate the Lunar New Year of At Ty from January 15 to February 8, 2025.

Regarding market management, goods and services for Tet, the Department of Industry and Trade has issued and implemented a plan to guide production and business units to develop plans and sign contracts to prepare goods ready to serve the people. Continue to coordinate with the Department of Industry and Trade of provinces and cities to proactively grasp the supply of essential goods and organize activities to connect and exploit goods to fully serve the needs of the people of the capital during Tet.

At the same time, ensure security and order, continue to strengthen the handling of violations of alcohol, drug and stimulant concentrations to ensure that people have a safe and happy New Year.

Regarding lighting and decoration for Tet, Chairman of the City People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh directed that environmental sanitation and lighting must be ensured, especially at important locations, administrative offices, and public areas. In particular, it is necessary to study ways to decorate with highlights and cultural depth, reflecting the elegance of the capital.
