Bao Tran, 20 years old, shared: "I am very happy to know that the Zoo has capybara. Now I don't need to go far but can see and pet them right in Ho Chi Minh City. I hope there will be more events like this so that everyone can learn about animals."

Only 20 lucky visitors were allowed into the capybara enclosure on the first day. The zoo will open to the public on January 9, when the capybaras are more accustomed to human contact.

Mr. Trong Phuc, a zookeeper, said the capybara family is monitored by cameras and cared for with a proper diet, always closely monitoring their health.

The capybara is the world's largest rodent, known for its friendly and sociable personality. They can grow to be 60cm tall, 1.2m long, and weigh up to 100kg.

Currently, the zoo is taking care of 4 capybaras, including 2 males and 2 females, all 6 months old and weighing from 15 to 20kg. The management board has named them "Phu - Quy - Cat - Tuong" with the wish for good things in the new year.
