Rice prices in the Mekong Delta continued to increase in many localities last week, while the export price of 5% broken rice was also offered at a 15-year peak of 590 to 600 USD/ton. This price is higher than the previous week's price of 550 to 575 USD/ton.
Commenting on the outlook for rice prices, many traders said: "It is not yet known how much prices will increase." In the past two weeks, Vietnamese rice prices have increased sharply, due to high demand from exporters and processors.

Data from the Institute of Policy and Strategy for Agricultural and Rural Development shows that in Soc Trang, rice prices increased compared to last week, such as Dai Thom 8 at 8,100 VND/kg, an increase of 200 VND/kg; RVT at 7,800 VND/kg, also an increase of 200 VND/kg; OM 5451 increased by 100 VND/kg, to 7,800 VND/kg.
Rice prices in Hau Giang also increased quite a bit, such as IR 50404 to 8,000 VND/kg, an increase of 400 VND/kg; RVT to 8,400 VND/kg, an increase of 100 VND/kg; OM 18 to 8,500 VND/kg, an increase of 600 VND/kg.
In Can Tho, rice prices continued to remain stable for some varieties such as IR 50404 at 6,800 VND/kg, Jasmine at 7,600 VND/kg; OM 4218 at 7,500 VND/kg.
Rice prices in Tien Giang such as IR 50404 at 7,200 VND/kg, Jasmine rice at 7,200 VND/kg; OC10 alone increased by 200 VND/kg to 7,200 VND/kg.
Rice prices in Kien Giang also increased in many varieties such as IR 50404 at 6,600 VND/kg, up 100 VND/kg; OM 5451 at 6,900 VND/kg, up 200 VND/kg; Jasmine at 7,100 VND/kg, up 100 VND/kg.
